In 2003 they got associated with the Ska scene (despite never having played ska), signing to Moonska Europe and have since been at the the forefront of the UK punk rock scene, with one album distributed internationally through Moonska and many more releases through other underground UK punk labels. Debut album 'Concrete & Udder Chaos' produced by Iain Wetherell (Goober Patrol, Capdown, Vanilla Pod) brought together a collection of their teenaged anthems, spawning the pop-punk video stomper S.R.J. which topped the Scuzz charts in 2003 beating off Metallica and Less Than Jake for three weeks!. Other tracks off the album have been included on various compilations, most notibly Metal Hammers cover CD 'Sounds of the Underground' in Dec '03 and Compunktion 1 & 2 released on Sucka-Punch.
2003 - 2004 saw them on a heavy touring schedule with numerous Moonska package tour appearances out on the road with the likes of Spunge, Never Heard Of It, Whitmore and Mixtwitch and large shows with Bowling for Soup, Lars Fredricksen, Capdown and Therapy at the National Adventure Sports Show. 2005 saw them concentrate on new material yet still consistently building up a loyal fan base across the UK through their shows. Their early blink-esqu pop-punk sound matured to a show a band capable of much more than the standard formula, getting back in touch with their rocky roots, the riffs and the breakdowns in the vein of Rise Against and Alkaline Trio but still displaying the big chorus's and keen ear for a catchy song evident through out all of Graveltraps music. Ever determined to prove the UK punk rock scene can once again be every bit as vital as the US scene, Graveltrap follow in the foot steps of the bands that have re-carved the scene - King Prawn (rip) Capdown & [spunge] and with a new ep on their own label New City Noise causing a stir in the underground and street teams spreading the word, GRAVELTRAP's live show has been described as 'blistering, energetic, passionate and powerful' and they will be smashing their way around the country near you soon....

So I could stick her on the shelf
Next to my shiney trophies
To show her off when you come 'round
But if she spoke to me
I'd spank her on my knee
Cause she would have to be
The kind of girl that doesn't want a life
(WHOA) 'Cause i'm a man now
(WHOA) I have to follow macho rules
(WHOA) and if I break them
(WHOA) the lads just wont think that i'm cool
Oh how i'd like to leave home
And start life all of my own
I'd get a job and pay the bills
Get a new car and mobile phone
But then at 43
I'd wake up suddenly
And realise that i have wasted
All the fun years of my life
(WHOA) 'Cause i'm grown up now
(WHOA) I have to follow grown up rules
(WHOA) and if I break them
(WHOA) I wont fit in this world at all
Oh how i'd love to go to uni-
Versity for my degree
I'd spend 4 years of my life
Around the best of company
But what if afterwards
I had become a nerd
And realised that what I learnt
Will be of fuck all use to me
(WHOA) 'Cause i'm a student
(WHOA) I have to follow student rules
(WHOA) and if I break them
(WHOA) Ill get my arse kicked out of school
Who says i want to be in school
Who says i want a job at all
Who says i cant be nearly dead
And still be acting like a kid
If being a man means being like you
I think I'd rather act the fool
I will not copy what you do
Cause i aint turning out like you
The song "Dog's Life" by Graveltrap depicts the struggles of a man who is trying to fit in with societal expectations of what it means to be a man. He desires a girlfriend solely to show her off as a trophy to his friends, but only if she doesn't want a life. The man believes that he needs to follow macho rules in order to be accepted by his peers and to be considered cool. He also has aspirations of leaving home, getting a job, paying bills, and having material possessions like a new car and mobile phone, but fears waking up at 43 and realizing that he has wasted all the fun years of his life.
The man also considers going to university, but fears becoming a nerd and realizing that what he learned will be useless to him. He challenges the notion that being a man means conforming to societal expectations, as he would rather act like a kid than turn out like those around him. The song highlights the pressures that society places on men to conform to traditional gender roles and suggests that it is okay to act differently and to question the expectations placed upon one's gender.
