The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all direction
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark
For too long
Don't change for you
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I found a love I had lost
It had been gone for too long
Hear no evil in all directions
Execution of bitterness
Message received loud and clear
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I'm standing here on the ground
The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all direction
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark
For too long
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
Doooooooooon't change
Doooooooooon't change
The lyrics of Grinspoon's "Don't Change" express the idea that one does not have to change for someone else, as their true self is enough. The song emphasizes being happy with one's own identity and accepting others for who they are without seeking to change them. The main character in the song finds a lost love and recognizes the negative emotions he had been harboring, promising not to change for them to be happy.
The song employs a repetition of the phrase "Don't change for you, don't change a thing for me", indicating that the singer recognizes the importance of being authentic to oneself while still accepting others without wanting them to change. The lyrics also suggest that there has been a struggle in finding this acceptance and that things may have been dark for too long. However, the message is understood, and the resolution of happiness is found.
Overall, "Don't Change" aims to recognize the importance of individuality and diversity, stressing that we should love and accept ourselves and others for who we are.

Nick Ireland catch Bruce Springsteen’s version too. Saw INXS live 4 times. This ain’t a bad cover, along with the Killers. I think MH would be pleased!

The best compliment you can give another great band is to do a kick arse cover of one of their greatest songs.
