The band debuted in 1996 with the record, Por Puro Amor, which sold over a million copies. The album featured singles such as "Vete", "Quiero", and "Te Aprovechas." Other subsequent albums were successful.
In 2000, they teamed up with AB Quintanilla (of Selena and Kumbia Kingz fame) which resulted in the 2001 release "Soy Así", with "Ay! Papacito (Uy! Daddy)" released as the lead single, they reached a bigger and broader audience managing to break through within the U.S. Latin radio and Spanish Speaking TV music channels and garnering a substantial amount of radio airplay.
The band's sound by then, it was less focussed in the Norteño aspect and more emphasis on merging more US Latin American influences like tropical, urban, and Latin Pop.
In 2002, Alicia Villareal's profile had become so big in México, that she decided to part ways with Límite few months into the promotion of "Soy Así", and backed up by a multi-national Record Company and in the middle of various gossip-fodder-scandals she released her debut album in 2002, to a considerable amount of success. Within a couple of years, Villarreal's success would decline, while simultaneously Límite tried their hand at continuing playing with several different vocalists, both female and male.
Prestame Esta Noche
Grupo Límite Lyrics

Prestame tus brazos,
PRESTAME ESTA NOCHE,
Mañana te vas
No pongas pretextos
No mientas diciendo
Que algo no te gusta,
Oye mis palabras siente mi cariño,
PRESTAME ESTA NOCHE
Y un amanecer,
PRESTAME ESTA NOCHE
Y te lo aseguro
Mañana en la tarde te vere volver.
(hablado)
Dejame robarte tiempo de tu tiempo,
Abre tus brazos y prestame tus sueños.

The lyrics of Grupo Límite's song "Préstame Esta Noche", which translates to "Lend Me Tonight", is a plea for a brief yet passionate encounter before the person being sung to leaves the next day. The singer asks their lover to lend them their lips and arms for the night, knowing that they will depart in the morning. The singer implores their lover to not make excuses or lie about things they haven't experienced, essentially asking that they be open to trying new things with each other. The repeated phrase "prestame esta noche" is a reminder that the encounter is temporary and fleeting, so the lovers should make the most of it while they can.
The song plays on the idea of seizing the moment and living in the present, despite knowing that it can't last forever. The lyrics also express a sense of urgency and a desire for physical intimacy. The spoken section halfway through the song adds an even more personal touch to the request to borrow the person's dreams and time. The song ends with the hope that the lover will return after their departure.
