Hail The Sun formed with four friends who have been playing together for almost a decade. The sound they formed has a seductive touch, that invites ones ears to come along. Each band member brings their own style to the party, which forms a chemistry that is much more than a compound. Influences include only life, and modern mishaps and rendezvous. Musically and lyrically these guys go at it more than rabbits, more and more defining a unique sound. As the globe keeps turning, the sun keeps shining, and they keep hailing, harder than ice.

Hail The Sun Lyrics

And I didn't know what to say
I cannot decide
Lead 'cause it's what they want
And it's what they need
But for me, it's not
All and all I want to trust that we are not alone
Overly skeptic, I'm isolated
I'll never prove it, so it seems
Crosses for freedom
Suffocate syndrome
God showed up to tell me what it thought
"And even if you don't believe
There are those who still need me."
I reply, "The safety of your name
Isn't something I deny, but I may not feel the same."
Then silence set
We are the people that cannot be trusted to lead
Like we want, like we need
But for me, it's about whether I can
Agree that the skies are watching
Eyes up above always judging
Telling me its thoughts
"And even if you don't believe
There are those who still need me."
I reply, "The safety of your name
Isn't something I deny, but I may not feel the same."
As we have the conversation, I express my indecision
Living now instead of living for an afterlife
Crosses for freedom, suffocate syndrome
Crosses now freed of the suffocating syndrome
The lyrics to Hail the Sun's "Suffocating Syndrome" speak to the struggle of belief, the pressure to conform, and the fear of being isolated from a community. The song begins with a vision of God coming down and asking the singer if they trust in it. The singer is unsure of how to respond and feels caught between the desire to lead as others want and need them to and the realization that this may not be what is right for them. The chorus expresses a desire for comfort in believing and leading hands to follow, even as the singer feels overly skeptical and isolated.
As the song continues, God tells the singer that even if they don't believe, there are those who still need it. The singer acknowledges the safety of the name of God but feels unsure if they can agree with the idea that the skies are always watching and judging. As the conversation between God and the singer continues, the singer expresses their indecision and speaks of living in the present instead of living for an afterlife.
