I learned somewhere that composer Harry Gregson-Williams was inspired by a young singer on the streets. He loved the kids singing so much that he had to find him again and record his voice to use it on this track.

This is 100% correct. I worked on the film and remember the early recording arriving. It was so raw and absolutely chilling. Wonderful voice.

Bad News indeed... Unfortunately director Joel Schumacher has passed away. :(
He will be missed, and his great work shall live on. Very underrated director, who sadly a lot of people only associate with those two terrible Batman movies, but he was MUCH better than that. I think this piece serves as a very fitting tribute somehow.
