Here Be Dragons have supported many of the top names in World/folk music - The Young Dubliners (USA/Ireland), Carlos Nuñes (Spain), The Oysterband (England), Flook (Ireland) and Yo Yo Mundi (Italy). They have appeared on television in Wales, internationally on cable and enjoyed radio support across Europe as well as in Australia and the USA.
With their live show, you don’t so much introduce Here Be Dragons, as unleash them. They leap onto the stage. Mike Brooks, wild front man and lead singer also extremely accomplished on banjo, guitar, mandolin clad in a kilt bearing the Welsh national flag Will Morrison the drummer keeps the band firing on all cylinders, Stepan Pasicznyk (Formally of “The Ukrainians”) does magic on accordion, Cath Watkins sings and plays fiddle like the devil with such apparent ease, and Kyle Jones plays bass, guitar and vocals.
Here Be Dragons try to be true to their culture and heritage, not as a museum exhibit but in a way that’s a more honest reflection of what it means to be Welsh in the twenty-first century, whilst still respecting their Celtic roots. Using acoustic instruments like banjos, mandolins, fiddles and accordions alongside drums and electric bass in a way that’s far from most people’s idea of a Celtic folk-rock band; the emphasis is much more on the rock style of presentation. They sing in both Welsh and English and play mainly original songs but also include a couple of traditional ones like ‘Sosban Fach,’ and interpret them with all the power they deserve.

Here Be Dragons Lyrics

On this bright Sunday morn
I am greeting the dawn
Of my life without you Siobhan
Good relationships are all give and take
I gave but you only took
The dreams that you promised are never fulfilled
Siobhan
On this bright Sunday morn
I am greeting the dawn
Of my life without you Siobhan
So Siobhan you're out of my mind
I'm glad to be on my way
Once we were close now we're far apart
From now on that's how it'll stay
Siobhan
On this bright Sunday morn
I am greeting the dawn
Of my life without you Siobhan
I hated the way you used your power over me
But that power is fading you're a memory
You thought that I could never live without you
But that's exactly what I'm going to do
Siobhan
On this bright Sunday morn
I am greeting the dawn
Of my life without you Siobhan
"Siobhan" is a breakup song by the band Here Be Dragons, in which the singer expresses their relief and newfound freedom from a relationship with Siobhan. The song begins with the announcement of a new day and a new life without Siobhan. The lyrics imply that Siobhan was a taker, not a giver in their relationship. They promised dreams but never delivered on them. The singer has finally decided to close the book on the relationship and move on with their life without Siobhan in it.
The song conveys the singer's realization that they were being controlled and manipulated by Siobhan. The lyrics reveal that the singer hated the way she used her power over them, but now that power is fading as she becomes a memory. The line 'You thought that I could never live without you, But that's exactly what I'm going to do' is particularly powerful as it shows that the singer is breaking free from Siobhan and moving on with their life, even though they thought they couldn't survive without her.
