Like Real People Do
Hozier Lyrics

I had a thought, dear
However scary
About that night
The bugs and the dirt
Why were you digging?
What did you bury
Before those hands pulled me
From the earth?

I will not ask you where you came from
I will not ask you, neither should you

Honey just put your sweet lips on my lips
We should just kiss like real people do

I knew that look dear
Eyes always seeking
Was there in someone
That dug long ago
So I will not ask you
Why you were creeping
In some sad way I already know

I will not ask you where you came from
I will not ask you and neither would you

Honey just put your sweet lips on my lips
We should just kiss like real people do

I could not ask you where you came from
I could not ask you, neither could you

Honey just put your sweet lips on my lips
We could just kiss like real people do

I made a writing based off of this song for my English class. here:
“I’ve been thinking, dear. It’s a scary thought. Remember that night? There were bugs, dirt, and you were digging. Why were you digging,” asked Zoe apprehensively to Sherry. She had been waiting a month to sit Sherry down and ask her that.
Zoe had been thinking. She has been having flashbacks to a foggy night of Sherry frantically clawing at cold, moist dirt. Dirt was brushed out of her hair by Sherry, lit by the glaring full moon light. Her eyes prickled and felt like the rods were turning into needles. Her head was blank, that moment kick starting the timeline of memory. Sherry desperately pulled her into a hug, Zoe decided to push down her questions. Tears of relief wetted Zoe’s dirty, ragged clothes. Sherry pulled away to kiss her a welcome to a home she never knew of.
At the other end of the table, Sherry’s face twisted into a curtain trying to contain very uncomfortable knowledge. Her feet shuffled, her necklace fiddled around with. Zoe could tell she was contemplating on how to put it into nice words. Sherry was caught unprepared.
She clicked her tongue. “Well, it was a nice night for gardening, the plants were ripe with fruit. You know how fruit are, you wait such a long time for a short window of the perfect ripeness. If I hadn’t known better, the opportunity would have passed by sun rise.” Sherry was gauging how much Zoe had figured out. Zoe was disappointed, but not surprised. 6 months with only Sherry in the woods had Zoe figuring out all of Sherry’s habits and quirks.
“I know that look, dear,” Zoe pressed on. “Your eyes have been seeking, creeping, seeing if I really am here, right in front of you.”
“But you are here!” said Sherry. “You’ve been here all this time!” Her eyes scanned Zoe’s face once more, her twitching getting more noticable.
“No I’m not,” Zoe responded in a steady voice. “I don’t remember what happened before that night. Where I was. Who I was before you. I can’t remember my childhood, my family, my hobbies, my job. All I knew was my name, and you.”
Sherry’s eyes and body froze. She breathed in cold confirmation that Zoe knew, and breathed out a breeze of resignation. “Eventually you were going to figure it all out. And I’d have to tell you why I did it.”
“I realized my situation,” confirmed Zoe. “I just want to know why.”
“She was the love of my life. I couldn’t live on without her. So at my desperate attempts at what little life I had left, I brought you back. You aren’t her, I know that now. Please forgive me for disturbing your rest,” Sherry’s voice carried the high of remembering the lost, and the low of the present.
Zoe nodded. “I am sorry for your loss. But I can’t be this person you love so dearly. I have a new life now. I have to live it. Live on in the present, move on.”
Sherry’s eyes began to water. “Easy for you to say. You literally had a start over.” She wiped her tears. “I’ll do anything to help you adjust.” A hand reached out to hold her lover’s hand one last time. “Enjoy your new life,” as they pulled into a hug.

stop asking lesbians who the man of the relationship is. its clearly hozier.

jerzie vap

@Christopher Lee basically, lesbians are constantly asked who the man is in the relationship , where there isn’t one because it’s two non-men together, so they jokingly said that the man is hozier!! hope that makes sense! it’s essentially a way to take people’s ignorance and turn it into humor!
