Alongside Attwenger he is considered as one of the most influential heads of the "Neue Volksmusik" (lit. "New Folklore Music") movement.
He became famous as Hubert von Goisern und die Alpinkatzen.
After this very successful setup split by the end of 1994,
HvG produced two world music CD with musicians from Tibet and Africa.
In 2000 he made his comeback with a new band and the album "foen".
The studio album "iwasig" was recorded after the tour and released 2002.
A personal project first, but due to the big success of the first "Trad" CD,
soon "Trad II" followed. Both feature original austrian folk songs.
The latest and biggest project is the "Linz Europe Tour 2007-2009".
Travelling on an adapted cargoship, fully equipped with a stage,
the journey went east first and then will head west.

Wo san de Sünder?
Wo san de Oiden?
Wo san de Kinder?
Wo san de Tauben?
Wo san de Blinden?
Wo san de Rechten?
Und wo san den jetzt de Linken?
Wo san de Muslim?
Wo de Budisten?
Wo san de Juden?
Wo san de Christen?
Wo san de Hudu?
Wo san de Vudu?
Wo san de Bahei?
Wo san de Rastafarei?
An so am Tog wia heit
Wonn jede Gruppen leiht
Do is da Rübe weit
Do feiern ma mit olle Leit
Jeder Zeit und mit jedem den′s a gfreid
Gsundheut, Skoll, Cheers, Saluté, Viva, Nastrovje, masel tov, Prost
Setz di her zu mir
Egal wer du a bist
Bist Kapital- oder vielleicht a Kommunist
Ob du aus Hinterstoder oder nur Kerndeln frisst
Ob du da Übertrübererste oder olla olla olla Letzte bist
An so am Tog wia heit
Wonn de Muse aufgeigt
Do is da Hümme gonz breit
Und do feiern ma mit olle Leit
Wia ned gscheid
Mit anjeden den's a gfreid
Hau di zuaba jederzeit
An so am Tog, Tog, Tog
Sei dabei
Nimm da frei
Schau vorbei
Mit am Wossa oder am Wein
Füll dein Runden mit am Bier
Setz de her zu mir
The lyrics of this song by Hubert Von Goisern seek to identify various groups of people and where they may be found or what they may be doing. The opening lines ask “Where are the saints? Where are the sinners? Where are the old people? Where are the children?” and so on for various other groups including Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Christians, and Rastafarians. The chorus then switches to celebrating the present moment, inviting everyone to come together and share in the festivities, regardless of their social status, political affiliation, or religious beliefs. The singer invites the listener to sit with him, enjoy a drink or two, and celebrate life with everyone around them.
The song can be interpreted as a call for unity and peaceful coexistence among people of all backgrounds, and an acknowledgment of the diversity that exists in the world. It suggests that while there may be differences among people, there is also much that can bring us together, including music, laughter, and a shared sense of humanity.
Overall, the lyrics express a message of hope, openness, and inclusivity, inviting people to set aside their differences and come together in the present moment for a drink and a good time.
