il primo menstruo
I.M.d.P. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

E mi ritrovo qui
Di tempo ne è passato
Ma I ricordi della scuola
Sono vivi come allora
C'è tanta nostalgia

E sono fermo qui
È tutto come prima
Dal negozio dei panini
Quell'odore di farina è sempre magico

Era l'83
Io stavo in III B
Quando mi disse ci vediamo sabato
L'appuntamento qui
In questa stessa via
Per correre a baciarla dentro un cinema

Il primo amore non si scorda mai
Eppure il tempo passa su di noi
Quella promessa fatta a casa tua
Non litighiamo più per gelosia
Il primo amore non si scorda mai
E forse tutto questo tu lo sai
Anche se ci incontriamo e non t'accorgi di me
Sei sempre quella che
Un giorno si stringeva forte a me

E me ne vado via
Con gli occhi un po' bagnati
Per un'ora ho navigato
Dentro il mare del passato
Come una favola

Sembrava averti qui
Seduta accanto a me
Sopra il muretto che ci ha visto crescere
Ma sono solo qui
A scrivere così
La frase che mi sembra incancellabile

Il primo amore non si scorda mai
Eppure il tempo passa su di noi
Quella promessa fatta a casa tua

Overall Meaning

The Italian song "Il Primo Menstruo" by I.M.d.P. is a poignant reflection on the power of first love and the endurance of memories. The lyrics express the singer's nostalgia for his youth, specifically a time when he was in the third year of school in 1983. He recalls the scent of flour from the sandwich shop and the magic of a first date with a girl who he met in that same street. The song proclaims that the first love cannot be forgotten even as time passes, and memories of the past continue to affect the present.

The lyrics are both wistful and emotional, embodying a sense of longing for a simpler time. The singer's thoughts of the past give him a sense of comfort, as he remembers the purity of his feelings for his first love. He recognizes that the girl who he used to be with is now just a memory, but this nostalgia allows him to re-live their relationship.

The final verse of the song shifts back to the present, with the singer leaving his memories behind and returning to reality. He hears the sounds of the city and the horns of the cars, bringing him back to the present, away from his past. The song's themes of memory, love, and time make it a poignant and powerful reflection on human experience.

lol, nice sentiment , and I agree with your statement, but in my experience people like this are not only, not welcomed in this world, but ostracized. People don't want to accept someone is smarter, or more moral or happier. They especially will not accept someone being happier if the person they are judging has less wealth and/or achievements. The self righteousness is so ingrained.

The basic attitudes I see, in friends, family, acquaintances, service reps, strangers is, "You don't want anything different than what I have, you are just bitter because you are not as good or smart as me. Even if one is not bitter, or has no complaints, they learn to look down at others, because if they had the person's life they would consider themselves losers, or not smart enough. Even if it's someone who has lived their life volunteering to help sick children. They are put in a position to have to accept either they are not a good person, or that their ideas are not the only way to design success or intelligence. A successful person won't do that. Also, I don't want to hurt anyone, so anything I do is ok. And communicating means not speaking your real opinion, not speaking more than 1 or 2 sentences(like this comment. Long comments regularly get me insults. Info has to be short, packaged and deliverable, or it's not valid.), not knowing something that someone else doesn't, or knowing a better way to do something they are doing. Not talking animated or with passion, cz that means you want attention, or love or own voice. The truth is they are insecure, fearful, petty, brainless drones, boring and spiritually lost, in a void of meaning and purpose. They are threatened by anyone that knows how to really smile, and is free of their ego, hypocrisy and judging others.Truth is it's easier to be quiet, and selfish, to make assumptions and feed their own fantastical narrative.

I truly believe humans are naturally more like Hans then not, but 95% of the population suffers from mental disorders that culture has created in them. The culture of outdoing the next guy, being cool, being loved and idolized. Honest, selfless, respectful, non-judgemental, supportive, consistent with advertised beliefs, sensitive to others suffering, smart, articulate.... These people are eaten alive in this world, and hypocrisy, wow. Do not make a change in your life for the purpose of trying to be a better person, and then explain your decision to someone who isn't willing to make the same change, they will burn a person at the stake before admit the logic is irrefutable, or they are doing something wrong. " What do you know? You think you are sooo smart." lol Losers, the people you are referring to, people who are not Hans Rosling, are losers, plain and simple.

Peace

P.S. In Europe everyone talks like that. Go to Germany, they are so colorful and passionate. I know it sounds wrong, but they are so miserable because they are surrounded by emotional deciders, a.k.a.morons

@klnkat6600

@Shrek Shrek This is not meant to be targeting you specifically, but you (meaning students) will know you are grown up when you realize that authority figures are not all equally respected, equally scientifically rigorous or equally honest. In fact, most are not.

You will learn that the UN and the EU are bodies of elite globalists who are desperately trying to socially reengineer the world into one world order - their order. In other words, they give the order and you bend the knee.

Who came up with the global warming scam? You guessed it. The UN and the marxist professors running elite Universities are the so called experts manipulating your fear in order to take political and financial control.

You will see it, maybe this year, maybe next. They will start to lose the propaganda stranglehold and the majority of the world's climatologists will be heard without retribution. They are talking now, so is the earth's physical record of climate. They are proving that the earth's climateis not changing from excess carbon dioxide, but the earth is thankfully greening because of it.

Read the New Green Deal if AOC and you'll see it has nothing to do with conservation abd EVERYTHING to do with Socialism and destroyjng Americas economy, not to mention veganism. We will all be equally destitute and subservient and won't care about global temperature anymore. Small mercy.

I know you will laugh now, the teachers have their hooks in your brain. Maybe some will remember hearing this as the years go by and you lose your naive innocence.

This was just an assignment for school, but I didn't expect to like and be interested that much to Mr. Rosling's entire presentation. This is very educational and interesting. Well done!

This is the best lecture i have had in over 25 years of my study life. Mesmerizing and hard economic and statistical figures demystified in less than an hour! Prof R, Hans, you made my day. I look forward to the day i can be able to present and train people in the World like you do! Thank you indeed. Martin Morris Okolo from Teso - Uganda

Today I'm a data scientist, thanks to Hans Rosling. I learned from Hans that I need to better understand the world with the data and not with opinions. Rest in peace, legend!
