Well it's not DMMD, but Nitro+Chiral has announced their next game, working title is Slow Damage. No release date unfortunately. Also, looking back, N+C keeps their games so different, I wonder if this one will hit with me, and so many others, like DMMD did.

I'm planning to play Togainu no Chi soon, Lamento is very different style wise, and Sweet Pool while art is probably second to DMMD in it's gorgeousness, the story is freaking dark and depressing. They don't need to copy DMMD, but I hope it leans it its direction versus the others in most aspects.

The Bad Ending for Koujaku is probably one of the most heartbreaking ones, in my opinion. It's the only Bad Ending where Aoba himself gives up. In the rest, he at least puts up a fight of some kind. In Koujaku's, he's so driven to despair by his own failure at Scrap that he gives in it, and that in turn drives Koujaku into madness seeing Aoba do what he always plead for him to never do - to give in.

Exactly... even though all the other bad endings hurt and are more brutal. But if you think about it. Koujaku’s bad ending is the most depressing. Idk the fact that here aoba actually had the chance to save koujaku but he himself has fallen into despair thinking that he ruined koujaku for good and wont return like mizuki is what hurts the most. In the other bad endings it was really the end and aoba was in his right mind. In koujaku’s BE they both lost themselves.. both of them are lost but still desperately fighting to be together while they know there’s no hope.. and this song proves it...💔

I remember entering the fandom when most of it was just silent.....I still enjoyed everything the others "left" in the tags of any social media I could search through.
I also remember how much I didn't want a person to leave the fandom bc she was like the last "active" member in it...I stayed in it for 3 whole years waiting for something to happen but eventually moved on (years later when I searched out of curiosity if that person deactivated, I got a bit sad after finding out she actually did..)
No matter what though, I never changed my YouTube name and I'll keep this forever because, even being an 18+ game, it was so much more and the comments under this video confirm that with each passing day .
I hope someday we'll get something NEW for DMMD even tho it's really unlikely after all these years..

Sorry, this is a bit long but I just wanted to record my feelings somewhere, so I never forget.

Honestly hearing all these different stories in the comment section, I feel so relieved. This game has been my safe space and comfort ever since I was 15, I'm almost 20 now and I just replayed the entire game, it honestly consumed me all over again after all those years. I seriously love every single thing about it, the characters, their design, voice acting, how each and every one of them has such a unique and irreplaceable sense of individuality, no matter how cliche they may seem. The mesmerizing artwork of Honya Lala, the beautifully composed music and soundtracks that fit so well in every scene, the carefully painted scenery and backgrounds, I could go on forever but it still wouldn't be enough. This game isn't just some porn game you play when you're horny, it's such a special gem, so beautifully made, a true piece of art. I'm thankful and grateful to the entire Nitro+Chiral team for making this game. Even now in university, when I'm facing financial, family & mental problems, I still turn to this game, and it calms me down. It's an unexplainable sense of comfort and tranquility. It gives me a reason to keep pushing forward, and not give up, not give in to despair, just like Aoba. Even more so because I'm currently studying Japanese in university; I hope I can someday replay the game all over again in its original language, and look back at these days, grateful that I made it this far.

Same here. Started with the anime when I was 12-13, I'm now 19 and just decided to finally play the game I spent so much time talking about (I was spending hours reading the wiki of the game because I couldn't play it when I was younger)
And gosh, I feel so weird. This game is so much, the universe around it is so beautiful but hurtful at the same time. Leaving my computer to go to school is almost like I have to take some minutes to reconnect (lol) to reality because of how much I'm into the story. 8 years later and i still comeback to DMMd soundtrack. i recently replayed re:connect when i was rebooting my old PC.

i’m so happy to see the fandom is not dead. DMMd means SO MUCH to me and i will never forget about this masterpiece. DMMd is more than a simple BL game. it’s very well-crafted characters, a plot of quality and excellent OSTs. this game taught me lessons when i was younger, lessons i will never forget. DMMd is a safe place to me and will always be, i think.

Hey! I happened to browse old DMMD music too and I'm so glad I have someone to relate too. Your experience are def valid but I also wanna add that even tho I don't learn lessons from it (rather, I had fun playing as I uncover the plot) but the whole idea of being in that fandom, that tumblr era (remembering the aoba cake lmao), and just ofc screaming over the whole plot, the whole meme, and then the fandisk came out as well and anime and it was just damn, it was just so nostalgic remembering back - and honestly now i'm 22 y.o and everything is lit just a memory, a good one at least! anyway now i'm just currently obsessed with slow damage's ost (specifically pearl tower!) and sincerely hoping they released an eng ver!!!! anyway have a nicer day <3

I discovered this year when i was 12 (yeah i was hella young) and now im 17, five years later and i still love this game so much. Even if the fandom isnt as active as it used to be im glad theres people that still pay attention to it! This game means so much to me, it gives me so many emotions and comforts me so much. Its more than a bl game for me, it really is a special game. I would really love to get myself involved in the fandom but im kinda shy when talking to people, but no matter what i’ll always continue supporting the game and i hope with the steam release it gets the attention this beautiful game deservers. I hope one day i can meet more dmmd fans also. :3

I relate so much honestly. I discovered this fandom back in 2014 when I watched the anime and wanted to play the game so bad since then but couldn't as I didn't have a decent computer or money to play the game. I'm 18 now and finally played the whole game through a few weeks ago, got all achievements, went through all endings, couldn't stop playing. I pulled like 3 all-nighters just to finish the game cause I just loved it so much. The story, the characters have such a special place in my heart, It's definitely an experience that I will never forget. Long live the DMMD fandom...

I have to say this bad ending was one of my favourite endings. Not because I don't like Koujaku, don't get me wrong, I do like him and he's one of my favourite pairings with Aoba. The thing is, the idea of Sly taking control and Aoba not being able to stop his plans is so appealing to me, specially because you know that deep down Aoba is still there and watching as everything he has known until now crumbles beneath his feet and he can't do anything about it, he probably tried to stop Sly and couldn't. He probably didn't think he had the strength to and failed because he wailed in self pity, now all he has left to do is sit back and be oppressed, just like he once did Sly/Shiroba. He probably can't take how much Koujaku is suffering and comforts himself thinking of this as some kind of horrible nightmare.

And then there's Sly, who is finally getting his opportunity to shine. Aoba never accepted him for who he was, so now he'll have Aoba go through what he did and he'll have his fun getting rid of everything that was once important. He'll probably try to do what Aoba would be least likely to do, to distance himself from Aoba, because it was Aoba that in the beginning distanced himself and didn't want to accept Sly as a part of him. But he probably still shares the same love Aoba held for Koujaku (even if in a more twisted and dark way), though he probably does not want Koujaku to seek the true Aoba inside him, so he creates his own Koujaku. One that he'll have the pleasure of breaking until he fits his tastes and can't see nothing but this Aoba ahead of him. A Koujaku without reason is one that won't hesitate, is one who won't be able to tell the difference between the Aobas and most important of all, is a Koujaku with whom Shiroba can associate because they both lost reason and there is only instincts and desires left.

lmao, call me a sadist or something, but I found this ending brilliant. Not because of Koujaku's demise (thought that was a huge plus) but because of what happened to Aoba himself. This is just my take on this, though.

I have to agree with you. This ending was very dark but in a good way. It gave people a deeper prospective on both Sly and Koujaku and even Aoba. I just think this ending adds to it all. Sure it's brutal but in truth it makes the story between all three of them just...idk beautiful. And this song just adds to that, it just fits!

I feel Noiz and Koujaku’s bad endings are the best for a couple reasons tbh...

In Noiz’s bad end, all choices kinda seem right, have noiz keep fighting or to let him finally rest. It seems more like Noiz is trying to express his feelings for Aoba but is hurting him in the process and is using the pain to show his love. In Koujaku’s, both have gone mad and have given up but still stay at each others side. Both endings are sweet but sadistic and I love them so much.

I love the bad ends. To me, they emphasize Aoba's role in the story, how easy it was for him to mess up. Had he said one wrong thing, or made one wrong move, his friends would be lost in their despair and the terrible burdens they've carried for so long. How well do you need to know someone to be able to pull them out of hopelessness like that? It's impressive, how some of these people were complete strangers, and yet Aoba was able to establish connections with them in such a short time. I deeply admire the back stories and the personalities of all the characters. It's difficult to come up with well fleshed-out characters like that, and DMMD managed very well.

So that's why I wouldn't have minded even if DRAMAtical Murder was a friendship game, instead of a BL game. It would have left that exact same impression on me in this way.
