Bisping should've seen this coming. Jai's left hand was down the whole fight, that's why Topuria kept throwing that over hand right. He took the center of the mat from Jai, got him against the fence, then baited him into an exchange and landed that bomb over the top. Great adjustment, great execution, great outcome.

Been learning boxing for past 2 months and coach always says if your in the pocket throwing to not lead with your head as your coming up.... and thats exactly what happened here. Jai had blocked that same punch twice earlier and when Ilia threw it a 3rd time had the perfect counter, but it did nothing to Ilia. Wow, what a fight! A much lesser fighter would've been done in by that head kick, early on in that first round. Then to eat it not allowing your opponent the finishing pounce but instead getting a leg, rushing back to your feet, and, eventually, turning it into a takedown, and controlling nearly every bit of the remainder of the round to either end up scoring it as a draw, maybe even having won the round was really an accomplishment in and of itself. Then to have enough gas left in the tank to come out screaming---pedal to the medal---and snipe off such a definitive knock out that was so obviously unexpected to viewers, yes, but, more importantly, unfortunately, to his opponent, he who had gratefully or regrettably certainly had underestimated either the skill of who he was up against, or simply an opponent's ability to quickly recover, or both---all of which makes up a huge part having a hand, in what made it such an exciting, albeit fairly short, fight! One can only hope, that most fights may end with this level of excitement of back and forth advancements, to culminate in such an explosive knockout finish. Every person loves a great come back story, to seal the deal and come out on top as the victor! Then on top of that to recognize a follow up blow being totally unnecessary in that split second, before the adversary even hits the mat, after delivering such a massive knockout hand grenade is proof and a true testament of skill, restraint, or confidence in your strength, technique or training and fighting ability, as well great showing of empathy and sportsmanship that it takes to truly make a top-notch, or world-class fighter and/or champion and one with 'class' in the truest sense of the word! Sort of elevating things to a whole new level! Much respect, sir!

I've seen a couple people call Topuria overrated because he nearly got KO'd in the first round, which is ridiculous. Jai Herbert's reach was a unique problem for him to deal with in the first round but you can tell as soon as he came out for the second round he had the distance figured out. If anything I think it speaks to how adaptable Topuria is to fight back for the win against someone he had 1 week to train for.
