2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I need some rest from all the stress,
A…quiet repose…oh yeah
Come wipe my tears and ease my fears,
And…bring me some hope…oh yeah
Please sit beside me,
Might need you to guide me,
It's just dim right now
I just don't remember how to smile,
Been feelin' this way for a while
Oooo child
And the small steps seem like miles
And everything just seems so final
Like before I start I'm finished,
No dreams, no wishes
Always coming in last
But the hope still holds fast
So I'm looking for that North star, that sunshine, that full moon's light
To lead me through these cloudy days, these dark nights
And I gotta hold tight
So…can you be that open heart, that shoulder that friend?
Would you be that open heart, that shoulder that friend?
Gotta see this to the end,
Gotta see my light again,
Gotta…gotta…yeah
(Hook)
Please sit beside me,
Might need you to guide me,
Got my own light inside me,
But this ole' world just brings me down
Think I just can't remember how to smile,
And I been feelin' this way for a while
Oooo child
So can you be that open heart, that shoulder that friend?
Will you be that open heart, that shoulder that friend?
Gotta see this to the end,
Gotta see my light again,
Gotta…gotta…yeah
Gotta…gotta…yeah
The song "Gotta" by Incognito is a soulful ballad that speaks about the need for comfort and support during times of trouble. The opening lines set the tone for the song, as the singer expresses a desire for some much-needed rest from the stresses of life. The lyrics "I need some rest from all the stress, a quiet repose," show us that the singer is feeling overwhelmed and needs a break from the constant pressures of day-to-day life.
As the song progresses, the singer makes a request for someone to sit beside them and offer guidance through their difficult times. The lyrics "Please sit beside me, might need you to guide me, got my own light inside me, it's just dim right now" show us that the singer acknowledges that they have the strength to overcome their troubles, but they need someone to help them find their way back to a more positive and hopeful state of mind.
The chorus of the song repeats the same request for someone to be an "open heart, that shoulder, that friend" - someone who can offer a listening ear and a comforting presence during times of need. The lyrics "Gotta see this to the end, gotta see my light again, gotta...gotta...yeah" reveal that the singer is determined to overcome their struggles and find their way back to a state of happiness and well-being.
Overall, "Gotta" is a powerful song that speaks to the universal need for comfort and support during difficult times. The message is one of hope and resilience, reminding us that no matter how challenging life may become, there is always someone who can offer a helping hand and guide us through the darkness.
