Oh what a day
Ingrid Michaelson Lyrics

Nothing can stand in my way
Now that you've shipped out from under my skin
I think I'm ready to win
Oh what a night is tonight
I think I'm ready to fight
Now that my broken bones all have been healed
Something good
Something good
Now that you're gone I can roll on to something good
Oh what a way that we die
Plenty of tears were supplied
My eyes are wrung out and dry as a bone
And I taste much better alone
Something good
Something good
Now that you're gone I can roll onto something good
Oh you know I moved away
From the other side of the door
I don't have to wait anymore for you to come home
Something good
Now that you're gone I can roll on to something good
Something good
Ingrid Michaelson's song Oh what a day highlights a feeling of liberation and hope that comes after breaking free from a toxic relationship. The first verse is a reflection of the singer's newfound sense of freedom, as she states that "nothing can stand in [her] way" now that her former lover is no longer under her skin. The second verse is a declaration of strength and readiness to face the world, "now that [her] broken bones all have been healed". Both verses lead up to the chorus, which repeats the lines "something good, something good, now that you're gone I can roll on to something good", emphasizing the singer's belief that better things are in store for her.
The third verse takes a more melancholic turn, as the singer acknowledges the pain and tears shed during the relationship's demise. However, she declares that she now tastes "much better alone", and highlights the benefits of moving past the toxic relationship. The song ends with a final repetition of the chorus, emphasizing the theme of moving on and looking towards a brighter future.
