mientras hayan guerras no cambiará.
En la colina silba la metralla
la hierba verde está quemada
y por el río continúa la batalla
nosotros dos ya llegamos al final.
Tengo que marcharme mi capitán.
Voy contigo no me querrás dejar.
The song "La Orilla Blanca La Orilla Negra" by Iva Zanicchi is about the futility of war and the tragic consequences it has on both sides. The lyrics describe a tired captain who orders his soldier to take cover as they are passing a border where there is ongoing conflict. The soldier asks the captain where he is from, and he responds from a southern neighboring nation. They witness the opposing side's flag on a bridge over the river that marks the boundary, but they know that it is not the same as the one they both hold in their hearts. The soldier suspects that the person who shot him may have been the captain, but he doesn't know as he's lost his sight.
The lyrics then shift to a scene where the conflict is at its peak, and the war has taken its toll on the landscape. The grass is burnt, and the hill is alive with the sound of gunfire. The final line of the song reveals that both the captain and soldier have died, and they are heading towards eternity together. The last verse ends with the haunting cries of someone weeping and shouting a name that will never be answered.
The song is a poignant reminder of the senselessness of war and how it inevitably leads to loss and regret. It also highlights the human cost of conflict and how it affects individuals on both sides. Although it is a sad and solemn song, it carries an important message that we should strive for peace and reconciliation.

Me encantan.
@pilarjosa2784
