Close To You
James Last And His Orchestra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

On the day that you were born, the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold
And starlight in your eyes of blue

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

On the day that you were born, the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold
And starlight in your eyes of blue

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

Just like me they long to be

Close to you
I've only just began to live close to you

Another fantastic…. favourite album of mine, by the late James Last. Bought this particular album back in the 1970s. Lovely music. Beautifully sung. This particular album is also available on a 💿 CD; straight from Polydor. Released in 2019.
I’m not sure about “Happy summer night” whether or not that’s available on a CD.
