The Foot
Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Lyrics

Rip my head apart
Slow, breath out, sit down and think of what you've found out
How it sounds, if there's doubt, if you can't explain it
It's not mine to decide, I guess I'll just accept you're right and I'll fight
For this side
Till I lose my will again
Seductive voices of the dead
Would you hear me better if my voice was only in your head?
Seductive voices of the dead
Their words bare more weight than the rest
Would you hear me better if my voice was only in your head?
You rescind the weight of kingdoms you build on ruins freshly leveled
So the roots can grow again
You rescind the weight of kingdoms you built on ruins freshly leveled
So the roots can grow again
And feel the sun again
What was left and what it means
Just slashing through this make believe
The lyrics to The Foot by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek are evocative and thought-provoking, exploring themes of acceptance, doubt, and the power of words. The opening lines, "Spill my heart / Rip my head apart" suggest vulnerability and a willingness to be emotionally honest, even if it means being torn apart in the process. The following lines urge the listener to take time to reflect, to breathe out and consider what they have discovered. The second verse introduces the idea of seductive voices of the dead, whose words hold more weight than the living. This could be interpreted as a commentary on the power of history and tradition, and the pull they have on our decisions.
The third verse seems to shift focus onto someone else, with the lines "You rescind the weight of kingdoms you build on ruins freshly leveled / So the roots can grow again." This could be interpreted as encouragement to let go of the past and move forward, even if it means letting go of things that once seemed important. The final line, "Just slashing through this make believe" suggests a desire to cut through illusion and get to the heart of what is real.
Overall, the lyrics to The Foot are strongly poetic and open to interpretation, but seem to center around themes of acceptance, reflection, and letting go.
