You Do Something To Me
Jane Wyman Lyrics

Something that simply mystifies me
Tell me, why should it be
You have the power to hypnotize me?
Let me live 'neath your spell
Do do that voodoo that you do so well
Cause you do something to me
You do something to me
Something that simply mystifies me
Tell me, why should it be
You got the power to hypnotize me?
Let me live 'neath your spell
Do do that voodoo that you do so well
Cause you do something to me
That nobody else can do
That no one else in the world can do
The lyrics of Jane Wyman's song, "You Do Something To Me" speaks about the power of love and attraction, and how it can mystify and hypnotize an individual. The opening line of the song, "You do something to me, something that simply mystifies me," conveys how the singer is bewildered by the captivating charm of the person they are singing to.
The singer goes on to ask why this person has the power to hypnotize them with their unique attributes. The line "Tell me why should it be, you have the power to hypnotize me?" suggests that the singer is trying to understand what makes this particular person so different and enchanting. Even though the singer can't seem to comprehend what it is that makes this person so alluring, they want to be under their spell because they have never experienced it before.
The phrase, "Do do that voodoo that you do so well" illustrates that the singer is willing to succumb to this person's charm since they think that the person has some magical quality that is casting them under their spell. The line, "Let me live 'neath your spell," accentuates the fact that the singer wants to be entranced by this person because it is the only thing that makes them feel alive. The final lines repeat the sentiment that this person has something special within them that no one else in the world possesses.

The difference between this film and the movie, De-Lovely, was style and entertainment. This film was produced to entertain and tell an uplifting story. The other was made simply to titillate the public. His sexual preferences had nothing whatsoever to do with his talent and ability to create magic.

De Lovely is a great film, and also tells a very uplifting story: the real life of a great man.

This movie has CLASS from beginning to end. De-Trashy is just that pure sexual trash. Why does everything today come down to sexual preferences. Cary Grant may have had Randy Scott as his BF, but they had the CLASS not to mention it back then in a movie.
