And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection
Have you been half asleep, and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many, many, many times to ignore it
Oh, who did I think it could be
Oh, someday we'll find it
The Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me
The lovers, the dreamers and me
The song "Rainbow Connection" by Jason Mraz, which is a cover of the original song written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher for the 1979 movie "The Muppet Movie," is a song that reflects on the wonder and mystery of life. The opening line, "Why are there so many songs about rainbows?" invites listeners to contemplate the abundance of beauty in the world and the various ways that it is celebrated, such as through music. The following line, "And what's on the other side?" expands upon this theme of wonder, acknowledging that there is always more to explore and discover beyond what we already know.
The lyrics go on to describe rainbows as both visions and illusions, suggesting that although they are real, natural phenomena, they also hold a deeper, almost spiritual significance. The line "Rainbows have nothing to hide" further emphasizes this point, implying that rainbows are simply what they appear to be, without any hidden meaning or agenda. The chorus, "Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection/The lovers, the dreamers, and me," encourages an attitude of hope and optimism, suggesting that although we may not fully understand the mysteries of life, we will continue to seek connection and meaning through our relationships with others and our own dreams and aspirations.
Overall, "Rainbow Connection" is a song that celebrates the beauty and mystery of life, encouraging listeners to embrace their sense of wonder and to always keep searching for deeper meaning and connection.

I was married yesterday to the love of my life. At our reception I chose this version of 'the rainbow connection' to accompany the dance I had with my mother. Jason, your version is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for providing me and my mom with the perfect vehicle in which to travel down memory lane in. 3 minutes I will cherish for the rest of my life!

He's so damn underrated. It's a damn shame. People call him a "One hit wonder" and other such things. Oh well. Those of us who love him know whats up.
