Flames Of Paradise
Jennifer Rush Lyrics

You're walking, talking like a flame, baby
Never knew what my heart would be facing
Guess I must have been blind saying goodbye yo you, baby
Close my eyes at night I can taste it
I'm running back in the fire where I once had you, baby
But I say that's something I won't ever do
I want you back in my arms
In the flames of paradise
In the flames of paradise
I want you back in my arms
In the flames of paradise
The flames of paradise
I give all of my love just to you
It's been so long baby
I give you all my love waits for you
Don't take too long baby
I've been making some brave conversation
Telling friends I'm way better off without you
Then I was living in my imagination
Thinking I could make it without you too baby
My heart tried to deceive me
But that's one thing it just can't do
You said don't ever leave me
Oh that's one thing I won't ever do
The song "Flames of Paradise" by Jennifer Rush and Elton John features two lovers reminiscing on a past relationship and expressing their need for each other. The opening lines paint a vivid picture of the passion and intensity that exists between the two individuals, with the metaphor comparing the love to a flame. The lyrics also reveal regret and a longing for reconciliation, as the singer acknowledges that they were blind in saying goodbye.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of vulnerability and honesty as the singers express their feelings. There is a sense of desperation in the lyrics, with lines such as "I want you back in my arms" and "I give you all my love waits for you." The chorus features a repetition of the phrase "in the flames of paradise," which could represent the intense passion and fervor of their love.
Overall, "Flames of Paradise" is a song about the power of love and the difficulty in letting go of past relationships. It is a poignant reminder that sometimes, even when we try to move on, the flame of love can still burn brightly in our hearts.

Jennifer Rush is really underrated in the music industry. Such a powerful and beautiful voice and I had never seen the music video for this song before now. Watched a performance of this song that Elton and Jennifer did together. 🙂

I never heard of Jennifer Rush until recently (U.S.). It's a shame she wasn't promoted better in America. She certainly had the voice and song writing skills, she should have been a larger success here.

It's a real mystery why this song didn't do a lot better in the charts.

I am happy that this was a hit on the top 40 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts here in America. I still wish she was big here in America as she is in Europe. Am I one of the few American fans here?
