Paroles : Jim Corcoran
Laisse faire
oublie c'que j'ai fait
oublie c'que j'ai promis
Laisse faire
j'sais pas c'qui m'a pris
dire c'que j'ai dit
laisse faire
L'amour te fait peur
quand t'en entends parler
tu te sauves
t'as pas l'goût d'm'entendre
j'ai pas l'goût d'me taire
laisse faire
j'ai peut-être visé trop haut
ou j'ai misé d'travers
laisse faire
Nevermind
forget what i said
you can forget what i did
nevermind
i don't know why
i cried like i cried
nevermind
you know love is such a chore
everytime we touch we get burned
i wont give up and you wont give in
nevermind
i'll be alright and i know you'll be fine
nevermind
The lyrics to Jim Corcoran’s "Laisse faire" speak of a relationship that has seen better days. The singer is telling his partner to forget about what he has done and what he has promised. He is willing to let go of the situation and move on, even though he doesn’t really understand why he did what he did. The partner seems to be afraid of love, and the singer acknowledges this, saying that every time they touch they get burned. However, the singer is not willing to give up, and assures his partner that everything will be fine.
The chorus of the song, "Laisse faire", which means "let it be" in French, is repeated several times throughout the song. The repetition of this phrase emphasizes the singer's message to let go of the past and move forward. The singer also acknowledges that he may have made mistakes in the relationship, but he is willing to let it all go and move on.
The song speaks to the universal experience of a relationship that has gone sour. The message of the song is that sometimes, it’s better to let go of the past and move on, rather than dwelling on what could have been. The lyrics are written in a way that is relatable, especially to those who have experienced heartbreak and have struggled to let go of the past.
