In the late 1980s, he became host of the CBC Radio program À Propos, featuring French music artists to the English network's audiences. À Propos remains on the CBC Radio One schedule as of 2006.
He also portrayed the part of David in performances of the opera Nelligan in 1990.

Tu me serres trop fort
Remets-moi les clefs
Laisse-moi seul ce soir
Tout prend ton odeur
Ma personne, mon lit, mon coeur
Laisse-moi me déshabiller de toi
Séduis-moi par tes silences
Intrigue-moi mais à distance
Ton amour est trop lourd
Tu me serres trop fort
Remets-moi les clefs
Laisse-moi seul ce soir
Laisse-moi me retrouver
Laisse-moi me faire la cour
Si tu peux quand même apprendre
Laisse-moi mes peurs
Ne me quittes pas mais laisse-moi seul ce soir
Ton amour est trop lourd
Tu me serres trop fort
Remets-moi les clefs
Laisse-moi seul ce soir
S'il te plaît ne me soupçonne pas
S'il te plaît ne m'interroge pas
S'il te plaît ne te fais pas de mauvais sang
Simplement question d'espace
Simplement question de moi, seul, ce soir
Ton amour est trop lourd
Tu me serres trop fort
Remets-moi les clefs
Laisse-moi seul ce soir
The lyrics of Jim Corcoran's song "Ton amour est trop lourd" reflect the feeling of suffocation and oppression that the singer experiences in a relationship. He tells his lover that her love is too heavy, that she squeezes him too tightly, and asks her to give him some space for the night. The singer wants to breathe, to be himself, to free himself from the overwhelming presence of his lover. He wishes to disconnect, to be seduced by her silence, charmed by her absence, and intrigued from a distance. He wants to take off her scent that has impregnated his body, his bed, and his heart. He wants to face his fears and court himself, but he does not want his lover to leave him, only to give him space to be himself. He pleads with her not to suspect him, not to interrogate him, nor to worry, it's just about finding some space for himself, alone tonight.
The lyrics of "Ton amour est trop lourd" convey a universal theme of relationships' challenges, the need for space and independence, and the fear of losing oneself in someone else's persona. The singer asks his lover to allow him to be himself, to disconnect, to face his fears, and to court himself without losing her. This theme resonates with many people as it captures the delicate balance of intimacy, and the need for autonomy in a relationship.
