Dove sei Mamy
Oh Mamy, Mamy, Mamy blue
Oh Mamy blue
Finestre chiuse sulla via
ha spento gli occhi casa mia
E da che parte andrò non so, non so più
Ferito dalla realtà
Io mi sentivo sempre più, più giù
Oh Mamy
Oh Mamy, Mamy
Dove sei Mamy
Oh Mamy, Mamy, Mamy blue
Oh Mamy, Mamy blue, oh Mamy blue
Trovavo sempre in braccio a te
Risposta a tutti i miei perché
Ma adesso non risponderai mai più
Un giorno tu m'hai detto sai
Col primo amore te ne andrai
E invece sei fuggita tu, sì tu
Oh Mamy
Oh Mamy, Mamy blue, oh Mamy blue
Oh Mamy, Mamy
Oh Mamy, oh Mamy, Mamy blue
Oh Mamy blue
Dove sei Mamy
Oh Mamy, oh Mamy, Mamy blue, oh Mamy blue
Oh Mamy, Mamy, Mamy blue
Oh Mamy, Mamy blue
Oh Mamy blue
In Johnny Dorelli's song "Mamy Blue," the lyrics depict a sense of loss, loneliness, and nostalgia as the singer searches for his mother. He questions where she is and laments the fact that her eyes have closed, leaving him without guidance. The closed windows of his home symbolize his isolation and feelings of being lost. The singer reflects on his youth, a time when he relied on his mother's love and understanding. However, the reality of life seems to have knocked him down and left him wounded. He remembers his mother comforting him and providing answers to his questions, but now she cannot respond.
The song's melancholic tone is underscored by the repetition of "Mamy, Mamy," which emphasizes the singer's longing for his mother. The repeated phrase "Oh Mamy blue" at the end of the chorus highlights his longing and sadness. The use of the color blue could represent a sense of sadness or melancholy, which adds to the overall tone of the song. The singer appears to be stuck in the past, recalling his youth and his relationship with his mother.
Overall, "Mamy Blue" is a song that expresses a deep sense of longing and loss. The singer misses his mother and wishes she were still there to guide him. The song's melancholic tone and repetition of key phrases add to the overall feeling of sadness and longing.
