Just Jinger Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Used to be sure, nothing was pure,
I was so set in my ways, you were my cure.

The first time I held her gaze, I felt a change.

She moves like the winter cold,
Right through me,
Burns like the desert sun, down on me,
I fall like the autumn leaves at her feet,
Just like the flowers bloom in spring,
She grows on me.

Used to be easy to be focused on me,
Choose never to let my guard down,
Thought I was free.

Freedom comes when you turn control into release.

She moves like the winter cold,
Right through me,
Burns like the desert sun, down on me,
I fall like the autumn leaves at her feet,
Just like the flowers bloom in spring,
She grows on me.

Sure as a mountain holds it's place in the ground,

Almost certainly I will know where I will be,
It may be all I ever need.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song Seasons by Just Jinger speaks about the transformative power of love in a relationship. The first verse speaks about the rigidity of the singer's life before they met their lover. They were so set in their ways, but this person became their cure. The second verse talks about how the person's love made the singer feel different. It was something they had never experienced before. The chorus then describes how the person's love feels to the singer. They move through the singer like the winter cold and burn like the desert sun. The singer falls at their feet like autumn leaves, and just like the flowers bloom in spring, the person grows on them.

Through the lyrics, we see that the relationship has changed the singer in ways that they never thought were possible. They were able to find a sense of freedom that they never knew existed before. The lines "Freedom comes when you turn control into release" suggest that letting go of control and allowing this person's love to take over allowed the singer to find true freedom. The last verse is imbued with a sense of permanence. The singer is sure that they will be with this person for a long time. They are almost certain that they have found all they will ever need.

Such down to earth guys, will remember it for the rest of my life. Thanks Guys

Watched you live somewhere in Hatfield, Brooklyn or maybe at the University of Pretoria grounds sometime around 1996/1997. Great times, excellent music, I still love it.
