In my mind I was dealing with the worst pain
I was enduring unbearable pain mentally and emotionally.

Whenever I felt like I couldn't bear the pain anymore.

Born into sin cause that's when the curse came
My sinful nature was inherited and brought upon me after the curse of disobedience in the garden of Eden.

My life's a highway and I'm stuck up in the worst lane
My life resembles a highway, but it was the worst lane that I was navigating through.

I'm going nowhere and I can't even reverse things
My life was forcefully driving me to stagnant places, and I couldn't do anything about it.

But you opened up my eyes when your words came
Your words provided me with a new and elevated way of seeing and understanding the world.

Lord you opened up my eyes, my eyes are open wide
My eyes were opened up after I encountered God.

My eyes are open wide (I was blind)
I can now see more clearly after being blind.

After encountering God, I've experienced enlightenment and freedom.

I have a new way of seeing the world after encountering God.

Now sometimes life is truly hard
Life can be difficult and challenging sometimes.

But now that my eyes are open wide
Now that I've encountered God, I have a new perspective on life.

I see you for who you are
I now have a clear understanding and perception of who God is.

You light my way as the bright shining morning star
You guide me on the right path and illuminate the way with your light.

You give me the life and strength to be going far
You grant me life and power to go further and achieve more.

And when this world had me pulled apart
When the world was pushing me to the edge, and I felt like I was breaking apart.

God encouraged me never to quit and to persist in the face of adversity.

I persevere because I am aware that God supports me.

Even when things are not going well, I trust in God.
