The kind that would run up in your house steal your jewels and couch
I have committed many crimes, including burglary

Been on the run for so long
I have been on the run from the law for a long time

But they caught me now
I have been caught and am now facing my punishment

They hung me on this cross I'm on and I see the crowd
I am being crucified, alongside Jesus, and can see the crowd watching

But next to me is someone who I've heard about
The person being crucified next to me is someone I have heard of before

They say He heals the blind and lame but I got my doubts
I have heard that this person, Jesus, is a healer, but I am skeptical

So what's His name I can't remember
I can't remember the name of the person being crucified next to me

Someone screamed it out said it was Jesus
Someone in the crowd shouted out that the person next to me is Jesus

But this man he didn't make a sound
Jesus didn't respond to the taunts and jeers of the crowd

He hung there breathing with the blood running down His mouth
Jesus was still alive but bleeding heavily from his wounds

He'd been beaten a crown of thorns now was on his brow
Jesus had been brutally beaten and had a crown of thorns on his head

See what I've done is just the reason why I'm hanging now
I am only being crucified because of my criminal actions

But this man is innocent and I can see it now
I realize that Jesus is innocent and doesn't deserve to be crucified

I said, "Jesus are you listening do you hear me now
I spoke to Jesus and asked if He was listening to me

Remember me just on the day You bring Your kingdom down
I asked Jesus to remember me on the day He returns to establish His kingdom

I want to change my ways I really want Your freedom now,"
I expressed a desire to change my ways and be free through Jesus

He took my sin away and this is why I say it loud
Jesus forgave me of my sins and that's why I am proclaiming His name

He turned His head and said Today you're gonna be with Me
Jesus spoke to me and said that I would be with Him in paradise

Cause very soon I'll be dead but I'm a set you free
Jesus would soon die, but He had set me free from my sins

Cause every drop that I've bled is so what you would see
Jesus shed His blood for my salvation

That it was shed for you to be with Me eternally
Jesus' blood was shed so that I could be with Him in eternity

The other thief he just laughed at what He said to me
The other criminal being crucified was mocking Jesus' words to me

See what I think is you're a liar and it's plain to see
The other criminal thought that Jesus was lying to me

But Jesus was silent and soon time began to pass
Jesus didn't respond to the other criminal's mockery and time passed

He cried "It is finished" and went and breathed his last
Jesus declared that His mission was complete and died

He died in the sky was rumbling and started turning black
Jesus' death was accompanied by a dark and stormy sky

But I knew He'd come again because I knew the facts
I had faith that Jesus would come again because I knew the truth of His resurrection

My time to die is coming soon and it's coming fast
I knew that my own death was imminent

It's hard to breathe I'm trying to began to gasp
I was struggling to breathe as I approached death

I can't deny what is true cause it's all I have
I could not deny the truth of Jesus' message because it was all I had

Now I knew that paradise is where I'm heading at
I had faith that I was heading to paradise, thanks to Jesus' forgiveness and salvation

I had a debt I could not pay
I owed a debt I could not pay on my own

Your love broke through took it away
Jesus' love broke through and paid my debt

I am now praising Jesus with joy

Please remember me Lord when You come again
I ask Jesus to remember me when He returns

Time is passing by my life is coming to the end
I realize that my time on earth is coming to an end
