Karim Ouellet Lyrics

Je ne suis qu'un homme
Je ne suis que mes os
Je ne suis que mon homme
Mais comment s'y faire mon frère?
Impossible
Je ne suis que rien pour rien
Mais comment te dire le pire reste à finir
The lyrics in Karim Ouellet's song Préface reflect the struggle and self-doubt of the singer. The repetition of "Je ne suis qu'un homme" (I am only a man) emphasizes the singer's feelings of insignificance and vulnerability. The line "Je ne suis que mes os" (I am only my bones) suggests that the singer feels reduced to a basic physical level, lacking any depth or purpose.
The second half of the lyrics reveal the singer's frustration at their own limitations. They express a desire to change or improve, but feel helpless to do so. "Mais comment s'y faire mon frère?" (But how to deal with it, my brother?) shows the singer's search for guidance or support, but also suggests a sense of isolation. The line "Je ne suis que rien pour rien" (I am nothing for nothing) further emphasizes the singer's feelings of inadequacy, and the final line "Mais comment te dire le pire reste à finir" (But how to tell you the worst is yet to come) suggests a fear of the future and an uncertain fate.
Overall, the lyrics in Préface convey a sense of existential angst and a search for meaning and purpose in life. The repetition and simplicity of the phrases emphasize the singer's feelings of helplessness and isolation, while the final line hints at a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty.
