Prior to being a recording artist, he was a record store owner and a club DJ at a nightclub in Salt Lake City as a way to make ends meet for him and his wife. After he and his wife moved to San Francisco he landed a job as a A&R man at OM records, where in addition to reviewing demos for the label he also submitted his own material, which would pay off big time for him. In 2001 he went from behind the desk to behind the turntables and the recording studio as an artist in his own right. In 2003 Kaskade released his first album, "It's You It's Me", which was well received by critics.
It would be his follow up, "In The Moment" in 2004, that would put Kaskade on the map. The first single off the set "Steppin' Out" would become a major hit on the Dance Radio Airplay that year as well as a top 10 hit on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. His biggest breakthrough would come the week of May 14, 2005, when his follow up, "Everything," would go all the way to #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
BABY MINE
Kaskade Lyrics

Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine
Little one when you play
Don't you mind what you say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
From your head down to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows
But you are so precious to me
Sweet as can be, baby of mine
You are so precious to me
Sweet as can be
Baby of mine
In Kaskade's song "Baby Mine," the lyrics convey a loving and protective message from the singer to a child, most likely their own. The song is filled with tender emotions and a heartfelt plea to comfort and soothe the baby. The opening lines, "Baby mine, don't you cry, baby mine, dry your eyes," express a desire to comfort and reassure the baby, urging them not to cry. The singer wants the child to feel safe and secure, as indicated by the line "Rest your head close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine."
The lyrics continue to emphasize the child's innocence and playfulness: "Little one when you play, don't you mind what you say, let those eyes sparkle and shine, never a tear, baby of mine." The singer encourages the child to enjoy their playful innocence and not worry about consequences, while also cherishing their joy and happiness. The lyrics express the immense love and adoration the singer feels towards the child, stating, "From your head down to your toes, you're not much, goodness knows, but you are so precious to me, sweet as can be, baby of mine." This highlights the singer's deep affection for the child, regardless of their size or imperfections.
Overall, "Baby Mine" is a heartfelt song that captures the indescribable bond between a parent or caregiver and their child. It celebrates the child's innocence and evokes a sense of protection and love, creating a touching and emotional experience for the listener.
