Prior to being a recording artist, he was a record store owner and a club DJ at a nightclub in Salt Lake City as a way to make ends meet for him and his wife. After he and his wife moved to San Francisco he landed a job as a A&R man at OM records, where in addition to reviewing demos for the label he also submitted his own material, which would pay off big time for him. In 2001 he went from behind the desk to behind the turntables and the recording studio as an artist in his own right. In 2003 Kaskade released his first album, "It's You It's Me", which was well received by critics.
It would be his follow up, "In The Moment" in 2004, that would put Kaskade on the map. The first single off the set "Steppin' Out" would become a major hit on the Dance Radio Airplay that year as well as a top 10 hit on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. His biggest breakthrough would come the week of May 14, 2005, when his follow up, "Everything," would go all the way to #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

Looking for the real thing
Somewhere we crossed the wrong wires
I dare you to fix this heart, babe
Baby, we got miles to go
Baby, we got miles to go
Spinning our wheels tonight
Baby, we got miles to go
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
America is fast asleep
Living life in reverie
So far from where we need to be
Bizarre, can we save our memories?
Baby, we got miles to go
Baby, we got miles to go
Spinning our wheels tonight
'Cause all we got is time
Baby, we got miles to go
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh (ooh-ooh)
Ooh
Spinning our wheels tonight
'Cause all we got is time
Baby, we got miles to go
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
The lyrics to Kaskade Ella Vos's "Miles To Go" suggest a sense of drifting, searching and uncertainty in a relationship. The lyrics start with the singer saying "I walked around the world today, looking for the real thing." This can be interpreted as the singer feeling disconnected or lost in the world, perhaps searching for something deeper, more meaningful or genuine. The lyrics suggest that somewhere along the way, something went wrong in their relationship - "somewhere we crossed the wrong wires." The singer then issues a challenge to their partner - "I dare you to fix this heart, babe" - which suggests a desire to repair the relationship and move forward.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Baby, we got miles to go," emphasizing that there is still a long journey ahead in the relationship. The phrase "Spinning our wheels tonight, 'cause all we got is time" suggests a sense of frustration and restlessness in the relationship, but also an understanding that they have time to work things out. The second verse references America "living life in reverie" and "so far from where we need to be," which could be interpreted as a wider commentary on societal disconnection and alienation. The lyrics end with a final repetition of the chorus, suggesting that the relationship is still a work in progress.
