Fowler put together a country band in 1998 and began playing Tuesday nights at Babe's on Sixth Street in Austin. Within two years, he'd begun recording albums and struck big with his self-released Beer, Bait and Ammo (2000). The album sold around 30,000 copies in the Texas area and garnered an impressive amount of airplay, particularly for the album's title track. The song became somewhat of a Texas anthem; Mark Chesnutt made the song part of his live show, and Sammy Kershaw recorded it. Fowler returned in 2002 with his third album, High on the Hog, and boasted some impressive guests, including Willie Nelson and David Lee Garza.

I said, now's the time to make my move
So I got me a beer and I bought her a sex on the beach
She saw that umbrella stuck in the glass
That chunk of pineapple made her laugh
She took the beer from my hand and said thank you, man
I didn't take her for the longneck kind
She said boy have you lost your mind?
Hell yeah, I like beer
It gets me grinnin' from ear to ear
Not just every now and then
I'm talking 365 days a year
I can do it around the clock
I don't like it just a little, oh I like it a lot
Even hot, hell yeah, I like beer
Ooh, I love it
Yeah, it's good for your heart, it's good for your mind
It's good for gettin' through a lonely all night
Everybody knows you shouldn't drink too much
So why's it always seem like it's never enough
Hell yeah, I like beer
It gets me grinnin' from ear to ear
Not just every now and then
I'm talking 365 days a year
I can do it around the clock
I don't like it just a little, oh I like it a lot
Even hot, hell yeah, I like beer
Everybody now, come one!
Hell yeah, I like beer
It gets me grinnin' from ear to ear
Not just every now and then
I'm talking 365 days a year
I can do it around the clock
I don't like it just a little, oh I like it a lot
Even hot, hell yeah, I like beer
Hell yeah, hell yeah I like beer
Oh, yes I do
Hell yeah, hell yeah I like beer
The lyrics to Kevin Fowler's song "Hell Yeah I Like Beer" depict a man who approaches a woman at a bar and buys her a drink before they engage in a conversation. Initially, she seems like she may not be interested in him, but after she takes a sip of his beer, she changes her attitude and finds common ground with him over their mutual love of beer. The singer then goes on to extol the virtues of beer, proclaiming that it brings joy to his life every single day and that he can drink it at any time, even hot.
The song seems to be celebrating the camaraderie and social rituals that come along with drinking as much as it does the actual beverage itself. By focusing on the pleasure that beer brings to people's lives and the sense of community it creates, it elevates beer from a mere alcoholic beverage to a symbol of shared experience and enjoyment.
In this way, "Hell Yeah I Like Beer" can be seen as a kind of anthem for beer-drinking culture, which is often centered around social bonding and conviviality. It suggests that, no matter where or when you choose to partake, the pleasures of beer are always waiting to be savored.

If you can't like this song we are going to pray for you! I am not saying go out and be an alcoholic, no, but drink a beer and relax once in a while. It is OK. Laying in my hammock, relaxing, a beer, and I am feeling pretty darn relaxed. Of course some country music helps me along just fine!
