History
The group was formed in late 1981 under the name Kid Abelha & Os Abóboras Selvagens (Kid Bee and the Wild Pumpkins), with the current members and Leoni. In 1982 they recorded a demotape with the track Distração (Distraction), which achieved excellent airplay on Brazilian radios, and debuted on the compilation album Rock Voador (Flying Rock), together with other new Brazilian rock bands.
In 1984 the band released their first album, Seu Espião (Your Spy), including among others the classics Pintura Íntima (Intimate Painting), Fixação (Attachment) and Como Eu Quero (The way I want). This LP attained the first gold record of the new generation of Brazilian artists.
In 1985, the band performed live at the first Rock in Rio, an experience described by the band as an "admission exam" into business. At the same concert, Leoni's departure was also announced.
In 2016, Kid Abelha officially announced they were disbanding. Their official website at http://www.kidabelha.com.br is no longer updated.

The lyrics of Depois das seis by Kid Abelha describe a situation of emotional confusion and heartbreak. The singer is disoriented and waiting for the moon to rise, hoping to find solace in its shadows. She is trying to make sense of why her lover has left her, and why she is feeling so distraught. The moon, however, is stubborn and gray, trying to hide away.
