¡Y zas! Le come la patita
Chacapumba, chacapumba, chacapumba, chacapumba
Chacapumba, chacapumba, chacapumba, chacapumba
Duerme, duerme, negrito
Trabajando
Trabajando
Trabajando
Trabajando
Duerme, duerme, negrito
Trabajando
Trabajando
Ah
The lyrics of the song "Duerme Negrito" by Lafourcade Natalia are a mother's lullaby to her child. She tells her child to sleep and assures him that she is working hard in the fields to bring him good things to eat. She promises to bring him quail, delicious fruit, and pork, showing her love and care for her child. However, the song takes a dark turn as she warns her child of the "white devil" who will come and eat his little foot if he doesn't fall asleep. This can be interpreted as the mother's way of teaching her child the importance of sleep to avoid danger.
The song can also be seen as a commentary on the reality of poverty and the struggles of the working class. The mother works hard every day, but she is not paid fairly and is forced to continue working despite being sick and in mourning. The repetition of "Trabajando" (working) emphasizes the theme of labor and the struggles of the working class, with the short and intense "ah" at the end highlighting the exhaustion and difficulties of the mother's daily life.
