Aimer déja
Lara Fabian Lyrics

Que faire de la terre
Qui ne tourne pas
Que ferme l'enfer
Je n'y descend pas
Pour qui cette mer
Qui ne berce pas
Et pire effemere
Je n'y reste pas

Je me demandais

Je me demandais

Overall Meaning

The opening lines of the song introduce a poetic existential question: "What to do with the earth that doesn't turn? What to do with hell that I won't descend to? For whom is this sea that doesn't rock? And worse still, ethereal, I won't stay there." These lines suggest the singer's disorientation in the face of a chaotic and incomprehensible world. Despite their confusion, however, the singer asserts their agency and control. They won't go to hell, nor will they stay in a place that feels ephemeral.

The chorus speaks to themes of honesty, growth, and self-awareness. The singer declares, "I will always go where it's calm/I will always go where it's right/Where my honesty disarms/What you will never understand." The singer has learned through tears that they must love themselves and others better than they have in the past. Lies cut like blades, but the singer refuses to let them harm them.

In the second verse, the singer asks another rhetorical question: "What to do with our wars? I won't fall into them." This line suggests a commitment to peace and nonviolence. The singer acknowledges that sometimes one must break things to learn and grow, but they will always come back to their quiet and just place.

Overall, the song is a meditation on finding stability and meaning in a confusing and often hurtful world. It advocates for honesty, growth, and learning from mistakes. It also emphasizes the importance of self-preservation and not succumbing to negative influences.
