Prisoner
Leah Lyrics

Twisted in the midst, I cannot turn myself from you
Tangled so deep, I can't get out
Cannot sleep, trapped and bound
I am a prisoner within my own mind
I am confined to your tower, there I'm entwined
I want to give inā¦
Spiral is the only thing I dream when I'm with you
Twisted in a vision, can't turn images from you
Tangled so deep, I can't get out
Cannot sleep, I'm trapped and bound
I am a prisoner within my own mind
I am confined to your tower, there I'm entwined
I want to give inā¦
The lyrics to Leah's song, "Prisoner," speak to the feeling of being trapped and bound in a toxic relationship. The metaphor of a spiral captures the feeling of being unable to escape the cycle of the relationship, and the singer's inability to turn away from the person only intensifies their entrapment. The line "Tangled so deep, I can't get out" emphasizes this feeling of being completely ensnared in the relationship.
The chorus drives home the theme of imprisonment, with the singer feeling like a prisoner in their own mind, and confined to their partner's "tower." The repetition of this line creates a sense of claustrophobia and reinforces the idea that the singer is unable to escape.
The final line - "I want to give in..." - suggests a sense of defeat, as if the singer has resigned themselves to remaining trapped in the relationship. It's a poignant ending that leaves the listener with a sense of unease and empathy for the singer's plight.
Overall, the lyrics to "Prisoner" communicate a powerful message about the struggle of breaking free from a toxic relationship. The metaphor of a spiral and the repetition of the chorus create a sense of intensity and claustrophobia that make the listener feel like they too are trapped in the singer's mind.

Even if one has no love for this music genre, these lyrics are worth studying. When i think of the word "spiral", the image is that of a flight of many stairs, often going round and around. Great imagery, LEAH!......Amazing what you find when you type "pirate metal".
