Lewis has become a multi-platinum selling artist and three time Grammy Award nominee. She was proclaimed 'Top New Artist' by Billboard magazine in 2008. Her two albums Spirit and Echo, released in 2007 and 2009 respectively, have collectively sold in excess of 10 million copies worldwide and topped the charts in numerous countries. Lewis's debut tour, The Labyrinth, took place in 2010. As of December 2012, Lewis has sold 28 million records worldwide. Her third album Glassheart was released 12 October 2012. It was preceded by the single "Collide", which became her seventh top-five hit in the UK. With the release of Hurt: The EP and "Trouble", Lewis has had nine top-ten hits in the UK.
Lewis' debut single A Moment Like This became the fastest selling UK single after being downloaded over 50,000 times within thirty minutes of its release. Her second single, Bleeding Love, reached number one positions in over thirty singles charts around the world. In November 2008 she set a record in the UK for the fastest selling download-only release with her cover version of the Snow Patrol song Run which sold 69,244 copies in two days. Lewis's debut tour, The Labyrinth, started in 2010.
Lewis was born in the London Borough of Islington, to Aural Josiah "Joe" Lewis of Afro-Guyanese descent, and Maria Lewis of Welsh, Italian and Irish descent. Her parents enrolled her at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, and from there she attended the Italia Conti Academy and the BRIT School, where she learned to play instruments such as the guitar and piano, in the hope of becoming a singer-songwriter. Lewis wrote her first full-length song at the age of 12. She initially trained in opera, but went on to singing jazz and blues, eventually leading to popular music, citing Minnie Riperton, Eva Cassidy and Stevie Wonder as her main influences. After leaving the BRIT School at 17, she took a number of jobs to fund studio time, recording a demo album called Twilight. The album, almost exclusively comprising her own compositions, was recorded under Spiral Music, a production company based in Fulham. "I tried to secure a record deal by doing things my own way. I worked very hard but I never managed to land a contract", said Lewis. Other demos were recorded under licence from UEG Entertainment, later included on an album called Best Kept Secret. However, none of Lewis's demos were released and she considered taking a hiatus from her music career to attend university until her boyfriend persuaded her to enter The X Factor which subsequently severed her connections with UEG.
Songfacts says that Collide, the first single from Leona Lewis's third album finds her taking a more dance pop route than on her previous material. She said, "I'm excited for people to see a different side to my music. I'm a fan of so many different genres and styles. For me this song has all the great ingredients of a summer anthem." The song got its first play on Scott Mills' Radio One show on July 15, 2011 and will be released on September 4, 2011.
Lewis' third studio album, Glassheart, is due for release in 2012.

Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am...
Taffy stuck and tongue-tied
Stutter shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded
And unfolded
And unfolding
I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am fine
I am fine
I am fine
In Leona Lewis's song "Colorblind," the lyrics seem to describe a feeling of being trapped inside oneself, and a desire to be pulled out and seen by others. The repetition of the phrase "pull me out from inside" throughout the song emphasizes this feeling of being stuck and wanting to be freed. The opening line "I am colorblind" could be interpreted as a metaphor for feeling unable to see the world around you clearly, or feeling like you don't quite fit in. The following line "coffee black and egg white" describes something as seemingly interchangeable and indistinct, echoing this sense of feeling like you don't stand out or have a distinct identity.
The next verse goes on to describe feeling "taffy stuck and tongue-tied, stutter shook and uptight," further emphasizing this feeling of being trapped and unable to fully express oneself. But throughout the song, there's also a sense of hope and readiness to break free from this feeling. The repeated refrain "I am ready, I am ready, I am ready" feels like a declaration of intent and determination to push through and overcome these obstacles.
Overall, "Colorblind" is a song that conveys a sense of longing to be seen and understood, as well as a determination to break free from inner struggles and find a sense of clarity and purpose.

God, this woman is amazing. She puts her whole heart and soul and emotion into her voice, it's unreal...
el pas.
it's normal. this is singing. the pop star culture of fake voices is there just to continue a money-laundry tradition. Real music and singing is rare because we were suffocated by those weeds without any talent. There is even more powerful ways of singing than Leona, but she is definitely a top artist for me from the more well-known singers. And I want to hear her, Mariah Carey, Delilah, Alicia Keys and a few others on top of charts, not the garbage from right now. Miley Cyrus? Katy Perry? This is not even music. Lady Gaga? Wtf?!?! R.i.p to music since they brainwashed us with those bullshit 'singers' for years!!!!! It's not worth being a musician if you have to be compared to that trash. I am not trying to compete anymore because it is disgraceful to be put in the same category with all of this trash, called 'music', which makes me vomit

Have you heard the original version of this song?? Compared to the live version of it, she does it no justice at all.

Please dont compare this woman to anyone, she's in a league of her own. Her energy is so pure and you can tell she has a gentle soul. Very few can speak to people so deeply through their music and she is able to do so without even trying. Thank you for blessing us with your talent Leona <3
Love always.

One of my favorite covers. It makes me imagine that I'm lying down on the grass while looking up in the sky. Fresh, quiet and happy, thank you leona for creating another wonderful melody. You don't need to aim for topping the charts, I'm sure we, your fans will always be happy no matter what type of song you are going to produce. Just a mere fact that we still hear your voice I think there is nothing more we could wish for. :)

Poetic Justice
The tone Leoa maintains, the notes she produces, the colouring - she paints pictures in song, and the way she breathes life into words is controled and restrained, which makes it the more profound and epic in scope.
