Lesiëm released its debut album, Mystic, Spirit, Voices, in 2000. When the album was released in the United States in 2002, it climbed to no. 7 on the U.S. Billboard charts. Lesiëm's second album, Chapter 2, was released in 2001 in Europe, and in the U.S.A. in 2003 under the title Illumination.
The first two albums were some sort of prelude for the pop-opera Times, which was Lesiëm's 3rd album (released as Auracle in U.S.A. in 2004). The musicians started their work in March 2002 and finished it in the end of July. The single Caritas (feat. Maggie Reilly and Chor der Deutschen Oper Berlin) was presented in December 2002 on the philanthropic TV-show of Jose Carreras "Carreras Gala".
Diva
Lesiem Lyrics

Angelus credo. Pari pari. Puella.
Monstrosa horribilis.
In duplo, in triplo diva.
Parricada, sacrilege, legirupa, Benefica. Diva amabilis.
fugitive, fraudulente. At meliorem, in aeternum. Diva.
Diva, diva. Bestialis. Elegantis, benifica.
Dive divites.
A woman with two hearts in one,
stand's on her own.
So alone.
No one's on the other side,
just herself on her own.
She's lookin' for freedom not for glittering nights, anymore.
Ocean's of tears as her life's passes by, passes by
The lyrics to Lesiem's "Diva" are filled with religious and mythological references, creating a strikingly intense and emotional portrayal of a powerful woman on a journey of self-discovery. The repeated phrase "O di. O diva. O pater alta voce" refers to divine or guardian figures, suggesting that the singer is seeking guidance or protection. "Angelus credo" is a phrase from the Catholic prayer, "I believe in angels," emphasizing the spiritual nature of the song.
The lines "Monstrosa horribilis" and "Parricada, sacrilege, legirupa" suggest that the woman is seen as monstrous or rebellious by society, perhaps because of her independence or rejection of traditional gender roles. However, she is also described as "Diva amabilis" and "benifica," suggesting that she brings happiness or blessings to others despite her outsider status.
The chorus alternates between contrasting adjectives to describe the woman: "bestialis" (beastly) and "elegantis" (elegant), "fugitive" and "fraudulente" (deceitful). This could be interpreted as the singer's struggle to reconcile her wild, natural instincts with the expectations placed on her by society.
Overall, "Diva" is a powerful and complex portrait of a woman fighting to assert her identity in a world that tries to confine her.
