After releasing two albums with this line-up, Sal left due to musical differences, and recruited a drummer for the recording/touring of 'Soul Searching Sun.' Caputo felt that the band's original spirit had left the band, and decided to quit in 1997. After a tour with replacement vocalist Whitfield Crane, the singer from Ugly Kid Joe, the band officially disbanded in 1999.
In 2003, the band reunited with their original line-up and played two sold-out shows before their home-town crowd, receiving great reception. This eventually led to a new studio album in 2005, namely 'Broken Valley'. Caputo came out as transgender in 2011. The band broke up again in 2012.
In 2014 the original 'River Runs Red' line-up returned to stage for several gigs. Their latest album A Place Where There's No More Pain was released in 2017. An upcoming album 'The Sound of Scars' is set to be released in 2019.
Fears
Life of Agony Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
No one knows how it feels
Nothing else could compare to the fears I fear
And I've never been on my own
Struggling all alone
And all I have are these clothes on my back and this song
I never had much I never believe I could be
Someone, somehow, somebody
Time to grow up and accept real life responsibilities
Listen
Won't you listen to the things I have to say
'cause it just might affect the way that you think about
How you live from day to day
It may be easy for you
But it seems like hell to me
The lyrics of Life Of Agony's song "Fears" deal with the theme of one's inner struggles and how difficult it is to convey them to others. The singer laments that nobody can understand the depth of his fears and the intensity of his emotions. He believes that his fears are unique and no one can relate to them. He feels lonely and abandoned, as nobody has ever been there to support him.
The singer talks about his humble beginnings and how he never had much to look forward to. He never believed that he could become someone significant in life. He has had to overcome all these challenges and struggles all alone. All he has is the clothes on his back and this song. He has had to grow up fast and shoulder the responsibilities of adult life. He is full of angst and resentment and is urging the listener to hear and understand what he is going through.
Overall, the song "Fears" is about the pain and loneliness that people go through when they feel isolated and misunderstood. It is a reminder to be empathetic towards one another, to hear and acknowledge each other's struggle, and to offer compassion and support.
