In 1982, three guys from Concepción, Álvaro Henríquez, Roberto Titae Lindl, and Pancho Molina started a band called Los Dick Stones, whose set list was based on songs by Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, and Gene Vincent. They quickly became very popular in universities, bars, and peñas around the southern city of Concepción. Given their ambition to achieve success in the Chilean mainstream, they decided to move to the capital city of Santiago and changed their name to Los Tres. In 1988 Ángel Parra joined the band and even though Los Tres is Spanish for "the three", they decided to keep the name.
During years when culture and art began to rise again -after the cultural and night life had been reduced for almost 20 years due to the military regime that had ruled Chile since 1973-, the times were right for their music to develop and their popularity to grow. They recorded 9 albums during their first stage together, from 1982 until 2000.
In 2000 the band went into an indefinite break and its members continued their musical careers in personal projects.
On 2006 Los Tres, with the exception of Pancho Molina, announced their reunion including a show in May, the festival Vive Latino in Mexico City, and a show in Santiago de Chile. The first single Camino was already released. Their tenth album (Hágalo usted mismo) was a result of this reunion. The band is still together.

No me falles nunca
No me falles
No me falles nunca
No podría soportar
Ver a un hombre tomando tu mano
No podría asistir
A un amigo muriendo en tu cama
No me falles
No me falles nunca
No me falles
No me falles nunca
No podría soportar
Ver a un hombre tocando tus labios
No podría permitir
Que otra sombra muriera en tu cama
No me falles
No tengo la vocación de un suicida asesino
Pero si es preciso afilo el cuchillo y me aplico
Si mato una mosca es muy posible que la entierre
No me falles
The lyrics to Los Tres's song "No Me Falles" convey an intense devotion to a loved one, as they plead for this person not to fail them. The repetition of "no me falles" ("don't fail me") emphasizes the singer's desperation and fear of losing their loved one.
The first verse mentions seeing another man take the loved one's hand, which the singer cannot bear. This suggests that they may be in a romantic relationship with this person and possessive of their affections. The singer also says they cannot bear to see a friend die in their loved one's bed, further demonstrating their intense emotional attachment to them.
The second verse adds to this intensity, with the singer saying they could not bear to see another man touching their loved one's lips. They also say they could not allow another shadow (perhaps meaning someone else's memory) to die in their loved one's bed. These lines once again illustrate the singer's desire to protect their loved one from any external influences that could threaten their relationship.
The final verse takes a more violent turn, with the singer saying they aren't a "killer suicide," but they would sharpen a knife and use it if necessary. This suggests that they would do whatever it takes to protect their loved one, even if it means resorting to violence.
Overall, the lyrics to "No Me Falles" depict a passionate and possessive love, bordering on obsession, that the singer cannot bear to lose.

4 años después, aquí me tiene la canción. Me entristece mucho no encontrar a una sola alma en Venezuela que ame tanto la rara y loca dulzura de este tema. No la puedo escuchar sin la carátula. Qué genialidad.
