The Most Expensive Girl in the World
Lou Bega Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
he thought he could get all type of ladies
he makes a lot of money 'cause he is a money maker
and if he looks for style he rides jet ski in Jamaica
he met this beautiful girl at a bar
and Jimmy could swear she looked like a star
he got the most expensive girl in the world
but Jimmy didn't listen - yes he didn't
his friends warned him - he thought they must be kiddin'
Jimmy felt in love like he never did before
for any kiss he gets she takes him to the store
every time she buys more than Jimmy can carry
so she employed a butler and his name is: Larry
he got the most expensive girl in the world
the most expensive girl
Jimmy is out of money he spent all on his honey
he is searchin' for a credit but his friends regret it
he is workin' at three jobs but that is not enough
to pay all her needs to pay all her stuff
I saw her later on a luxury ferry
and next to her stood a man named: Larry
you got played, boy!
he got the most expensive girl in the world
the most expensive girl
In Lou Bega's song "The Most Expensive Girl in the World," Jimmy is portrayed as a wealthy man who believes that he can get any girl he wants because of his money and his flashy lifestyle. He is depicted as driving a big Mercedes and enjoying extreme sports like jet skiing in Jamaica. Jimmy meets a beautiful girl at a bar and falls deeply in love with her, despite his friends' warnings that she is expensive and not worth his time.
As the relationship progresses, he realizes that his friends were right. He gets the most expensive girl in the world, but pays a high price for it. She takes him on shopping sprees that he can't afford, and hires a butler named Larry to help manage all of the expensive things that she buys. Jimmy finds himself working three jobs just to keep up with her demands, but it's never enough. In the end, he sees her on a luxury ferry with another man named Larry, and realizes that he got played.
The song is a cautionary tale of the dangers of falling in love with someone who is only interested in money and material possessions. It speaks to the idea that money can't buy happiness and that true love should be based on more than just wealth and status.
