delta charlie delta
la chanson de la mort qui dure
delta charlie delta
sur la fréquence de la police
delta charlie delta
la chanson de la mort qui glisse
delta charlie delta
le stromboscope de l'ambulance
delta charlie delta
la chanson de la mort qui danse
In Louis Garrel's song Delta Charlie Delta, the artist is speaking about death, the end of his life, and the acceptance that he will soon leave this world. He describes the song as his last one, his last dream in life. In a way, this could be interpreted as Garrel's way of saying that this song is his final message to the world before his death.
The lyrics here are quite abstract, and Garrel uses a lot of metaphors and imagery to describe what he's feeling. He states that Delta Charlie Delta is a song of death, which slips away like dust. He also describes it as a dance, something that lasts forever and echoes even beyond the point of death. Garrel also touches on the idea of family and loved ones, describing how they would react to his passing. He speaks about a mother's longing to touch her child once more, and a father's acceptance that his child has passed away.
Overall, Delta Charlie Delta is a song about coming to terms with one's own mortality, and the emotions that come with it. Garrel forces listeners to confront death head-on and accept it for what it is.
