She was signed to Silver Tulip Music at the age of 15, and her first single, "It Don’t Matter", became a huge success on the domestic charts in 1996/97. She was just 17 at the time. The debut album "Mirrors and Windows" was released the following year, with another two singles lifted from it.
Louise then went to explore other avenues and lent her vocal, songwriting and production skills to the dance arena, with the "Looking Around" EP released in 2001 before the "Play the Game" and "I'd Say Yes" tracks produced in the UK filled dance floors in the years that followed.
First Single: ‘It Don’t Matter’ [released at the end of 1996.] Reached the number 1 position on the national Campus Charts and after 11 weeks on the 5FM Top 40, reached 3rd position.
EP: ‘Looking Around’ [released 2001]
Louise then went on to explore other avenues and lent her vocal chords, songs and production to the dance arena, doing live performances with some of the hottest underground DJ’s. ‘My Reality’ [first single off the EP], reached 10th position on the 5FM Top 40.
The R&B/Pop track, ‘Looking around’ was placed on high rotation on several other leading radio stations.
In 2002 Louise released her single 'Words don’t mean a thing', in which wrote, sang, arranged and co-produced the music. It was instantly picked up by all major radio stations [no. 11 on 5FM Top 40, high rotation on R&B stations] and has proved popular ever since.
Louise in the UK.
Louise wrote and sang the song ‘Play the Game’ with Kenny Hawkes [British Deep House producer and DJ.] The single hit the No.1 spot on the Belgium National Dance charts. With single sales doing so well, 2 remixes were released in 2003 – Phil Weeks remix &Stefan Goldmann remix. The artwork for ‘Play the Game’ has become a classic collectors item for vinyl fanatics. Their forthcoming collaboration, ‘String Me Along’, will be released later this year.
International interest from major labels came as a result of ‘Play the Game’, which lead to a deal with Sony/Illustrious UK. Louise wrote, sang and vocally produced the song ‘I'd Say Yes’ over the instrumental, Pornorama ‘Leliwa’. Licensed to South Africa, it reached the no.1 spot on the 5FM Top 40 charts.

So you can't see me cry
'Cause I can't hold it in, baby
Oh, not tonight
So if you love me, oh
If you love me
Look me in the eye
When life throws you in deep, baby
I wanna hold your hand
When I'm sinking down beneath, baby
Need you to do the same
So if you love me, oh
If you love me
Look me in the eye
Oh, look me in the eye
Come on and try
Some days I feel I'm all over
Come on and try
Feel like I'm going nowhere (Try)
I look to you for comfort and warmth
Come on and try
My life it's all or nothing
Come on and try
Try to give all my loving (Try)
To everything that feeds my soul
Oh
Sleep in separate rooms, baby
So you can't see me cry
'Cause I can't hold it in, baby
Oh, not tonight
So if you love me, oh
If you love me, oh
If you need me, oh
If you need me
Look me in the eye
Oh, look me in the eye
Come on and try
No one said it would be easy
Come on and try
The world's not there to please you (Try)
I wish that girl would calm down
Come on and try
You walk and feel frustrated
Come on and try
A whole day, you say wasted (Try)
It breaks my heart to see you fall
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
Trading me in
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
For something different
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
Where to begin
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
Hold on
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
Hold on
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
For someone different
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
Hold on
(Touch, smell, eyes, skin, breathing)
Oh
Sleep in separate rooms, baby
So you can't see me cry
'Cause I can't hold it in, baby
Oh, not tonight
So if you love me, oh
If you love me, oh
If you need me, oh
If you need me
Look me in the eye
Oh, look me in the eye
Oh, look me in the eye
Look me in the eye
The lyrics in Louise Carver's song "Separate Rooms" describe a relationship that is experiencing distance and emotional struggles. The first verse explores the idea of sleeping in separate rooms so that the singer can hide her tears and vulnerabilities. She feels unable to contain her emotions on this particular night. It suggests a sense of wanting to protect herself from being exposed and seen in a vulnerable state.
The chorus expresses a plea for her partner to acknowledge their love for each other by looking her in the eye. This signifies a desire for a deeper connection and understanding between them. The repetition emphasizes the importance of this direct gaze as a means of genuine communication and emotional support.
The second verse illustrates the longing for mutual comfort and understanding in difficult times. The singer seeks the support of her partner when she feels overwhelmed and sinking. She expresses the need for reciprocity, that he too would extend his hand to her when she is in need. It reflects the desire for a strong support system within their relationship.
The bridge of the song discusses the challenges and frustrations of life. It emphasizes the importance of trying and not giving up, even when feeling lost or stuck. The singer finds solace and strength in relying on her partner, wishing that he would calm down and walk through life with less frustration. It demonstrates her deep care for him and her heartache when seeing him struggle.
The final repetition of the chorus reaffirms the longing for a deeper connection, emphasizing the need for love and understanding. It serves as a plea to be seen and acknowledged, reminding her partner to truly look her in the eye. The repetition conveys the urgency and importance she places on this simple act of connection.
Overall, "Separate Rooms" delves into the complexities of a relationship where emotional distance and struggles have emerged. It explores the longing for genuine connection, empathy, and mutual support, highlighting the importance of looking each other in the eye as a means of understanding and comfort.

Louise Carver - It Don’t Matter
Don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
Don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
Sitting alone on your bed
What's going on?
What's been said?
And it’s Saturday night and everybody's out
Waiting for a special call
But it don't come
It don't come, it don't come, it don't come
But don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
But don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
All of the girls
Traditional ways, they don't have lovers
But are getting engaged
And you're such an individual
It's not your thing but they don't believe you
They don't believe you
Down down down down
Down down down down
But don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
But don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
But don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
But don’t worry about it
Don't think about it
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
It don't matter
But don’t worry about it
(It don’t matter)
Don’t think about it
(It don’t matter)
But don’t worry about it
(It don’t matter)
Don’t think about it
(It don't matter)
But don’t worry about it
(It don’t matter)
Don't think about it
(It don’t matter)
But don’t worry about it
(It don’t matter)
Don't think about it
(It don’t matter)
