Porque vas a volver
Después de darte cuenta
Que lo que aquí has dejado
Es lo que te conviene
Te vas a arrepentir
Por dejarme sin ti
Lo que de sobra sabes
Que lo tenías en mí
Yo no te perdí
No lo pienses así
Estás equivocado
Un peso me has quitado
Al marcharte de aquí
Yo no te perdí
Tú me has perdido a mí
Porque yo en tu lugar
No hubiera renunciado
Al amor que te di
Yo no te perdí
Tú me has perdido a mí
Porque ya has demostrado
Que poco te ha importado
Lo que sentía por ti
The song "Yo No Te Perdí" by Lucero expresses the singer's feelings towards a lover who has left. The lyrics state that the singer hasn't lost the lover because they will return once they realize that what they have left behind is what they truly need. The singer believes that the lover will regret leaving and will come back to them. The chorus affirms that the singer did not lose the lover, but instead, the lover lost them because they would not have given up on the love they had.
The second verse is where the singer's frustration shows. They believe that the lover is making a mistake by leaving them and searching for something they already had. The singer asserts that the lover will regret their decision, and the weight of their absence will be felt, but the singer also claims that they are better off without them. Finally, the bridge of the song expresses the singer's disappointment in the lover for not valuing the love they had together.
This song is a declaration of love and self-worth, with the singer stating that they are not the one who lost their love but that the lover lost all that they had together. "Yo No Te Perdí" is a beautiful and emotional song that showcases Lucero's vocal prowess and songwriting skills.
