Till We Meet Again
M.I.K.E. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Pugging a hole in the dam
Built my life around it
Oh well it's good for a laugh
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
Guess you've been put to the test
Always complaining
Guess that's as good as it gets
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
Can't stop the rain
Coming down in endless buckets
Can't stand the pain
Makes you stronger than the rest
Are you going mad
You can tear yourself a ticket
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
Beat up and naked
Guess you've been put to the test
Always complaining
Guess that's as good as it gets
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
Til we meet again
The lyrics of M.I.K.E.'s song "Till We Meet Again" convey a sense of resilience and acceptance in the face of life's challenges. The opening lines, "Put your finger on it / Pugging a hole in the dam / Built my life around it / Oh well it's good for a laugh," suggest that the singer has encountered difficulties but has learned to find humor and strength in them. The repetition of "Til we meet again" throughout the song serves as a reminder that these challenges are not permanent, and that there is hope for a better future.
The second verse continues with the theme of adversity, as the singer acknowledges being "beat up and naked" and having been "put to the test." Despite this, there is an acceptance of the situation, with the line "Always complaining / Guess that's as good as it gets" indicating a recognition that complaining won't change anything and that it's better to make the best of what one has.
The bridge of the song introduces a metaphorical imagery of rain and pain, emphasizing their relentless nature. The line "You can tear yourself a ticket" suggests that one can either succumb to the madness and despair, or choose to move forward and face the challenges head-on.
Overall, the lyrics of "Till We Meet Again" convey a message of endurance, resilience, and finding strength in difficult times. It encourages the listener to keep pushing forward and maintain hope, as they await a future meeting where things may be better.
