Reading its first lines brings me a question. Was it the work with video production or the interaction with followers on Instagram and YT that left Bernardo stressed? Opposite opinions about this between them could have been the reason for a break in their relationship, not to say break up? We want them to be next to each other because that is the most important thing, sentimental harmony. I no longer want to talk about mental health interfering in the relationship because this is a medical pathology, even if it can be diagnosed as the current stage of trauma added up to now. It would be very worrying.
The account of Adam's addition and the issue of his subjugation to a therapeutic conversion of sexual orientation was a necessary fact in the regularity of their posts, as they turned out to be the point that altered any previous planning of lighter scripts in the couple's story. Either they brought the narrative to the videos or they ended the channel. It was the real side of their lives, private but not exactly intimate. The damage to the relationship would be the problems themselves rather than their public exposure.

Having created a channel with the identification of a gay couple who travel and record their memories on video, and openly showing affection, there is little left to protect as private. Unless they decided to record their bedroom activities, but then their production would be for the porn area, not to show that a male gay couple leads a life equal to a binary gender couple. Nothing could be more private than their sexuality, yet it parades frame by frame on our screens in the frankest and purest way. To the rage of the prejudiced.
It may have been a difficult tradeoff in a homophobic world, but they made their choice. A very manly decision. "Life is not about chasing rainbows and things..." Any analogy to the LGBT flag? If there isn't I'll make it. Adam and Bernardo are not activists in the cause, if they are it is in a passive way because of the representativeness they have in the community. I completely agree with you, what matters is who is under the beautiful rainbow. The individual first, not out of selfishness or disregard for a class fight as if it were mandatory. Another tradeoff.

I posted a two-part comment on this video (number of characters over limit). Manually searching for my name will be very difficult to find, if you want to read it. YT has a search method that consists of doing Ctrl+F (Windows) or Command+F (Mac). A text box appears at the top of the screen; type the name, mine in this case, or part of it. The system will indicate with a color the occurrences of the typed string.

Unfortunately, things don't quite work out like that. It seems that when there are too many comments, the search crashes and stops at the first characters typed. I found that the computer needs a little human help, quite "analog". It is necessary first to show to the machine all the comments, that is, to scroll before its blindness the entire YT page, or the vicinity where we suppose our text may be (and if we knew, why use the tool?...). This means sliding the scrollbar all the way down, and there are several ways to do this. My favorite is to click with the mouse wheel in the upper region of the screen and drag down the icon with a dot and two arrows that point up and down. Leave the cursor at the bottom of the screen until scrolling stops. Once this initial step is complete, start typing the name in the text box and will be located in the respective comment with a highlight color. Small dashes will appear on the scroll track at each occurrence of the typed string. The search tool will pretend to have done it all by itself.

I just now found, by pure chance, a great extension for this problem. It's called "YouTube Comment Search." Look for it on your browser; it's a Chrome extension. Search for comments, replies, chat replays, transcription of the current YouTube video by content, authors, time. It is still not ideal, but it is very interesting. I don't know why YouTube doesn't provide something similar, It doesn't even allow us to sort comments alphabetically by author.

You have to dig deep and find your own strength D. Hopefully you, like myself years ago, will come to realize that social conditioning of others ( parents / friends / relatives / religions / whatever) - they all seem to focus on something that is actually a bit fake - they all focus on molding you into something that is expected by others without a thought on what the heck YOU need and want for yourself. It take enormous strength to break free out of that lifestyle conditioning, but boy when you do it is so liberating !

Thank you Mike for being here with us and for your kind comment. You know that I will be there taking care of him, I had a wonderful teacher :). We have talked about this in our therapy session and with each other, he has encouraged me to continue. Obviously, I won't be posting videos every week but I'll keep going, for now. Of course, we are going to see how this is going to pan out. I am just so happy that he is pausing and taking some time for HIM. He deserves it and it's quite hard for him to think of himself.

Adam and Bernardo, I would like to tell you something… I discovered your channel less than a week ago and I simply loved it. Your videos full of feeling and tenderness made me believe in LOVE. I was positively surprised by the way you both showed your life and your journey together. I watched many videos of different periods of time and I got to know you both better. Then I got the impression and the feeling that you also had your personal struggles. That’s completely normal… we’re humans and we all have our own struggles in life. There’s no perfection, but there is perfection in the imperfection. I could also see how Bernardo was all the time there for you, supporting you and protecting you. But maybe he also needs that support and that protection from you. Now I know he also have his own issues with his past. Let him know you love him and you’ll be there for him. What a good thing you said. Really, the best support for Bernardo right now is to give him a break from his long years of youtuber activity. Maybe Adam went a little overboard with his emotions, but that's his husband, he knows him better than any of us, and maybe he's really upset as much as we've seen now. What's interesting, I've occasionally seen videos with a noticeable number of dislikes, whether it's 800, 1000 or more, though usually it's 200 - 500, and that's on the grounds of homophobia. Perhaps this is a consequence of some clickbait and exaggeration. Anyway, I'm glad there are such people, and that they make it clear to most people that they are just people with a slightly different compass, and to the minority by showing them an example of true relationships and encouraging them to accept themselves and be strong in a world that is not very kind to them, but things change, and Bernard and Adam are changing the world for the better.

This is the first comment I have ever made on one of your videos but this video really inspired me to say something. I have been watching your videos since the beginning, since I was 15, closeted, and felt guilty for watching videos about a “gay” couple. I’m 20 now and was brave enough to come out to my loved ones and pursue a relationship with a man that I love. It’s insane to see how much growth you guy’s have had over the years and how much you guy’s have inspired my personal growth as well. I honestly don’t think I’d be where I’m at if it weren’t for your videos. Bernardo does add that sense of peace to your videos and it will be missed but at the same time things change and evolve and maybe this could be a time for you (Adam) to really show us who you are. This could be videos about your mental health journey or self growth/habit building videos. I’m sure whatever you do even if you choose to take a break will be best for you.

Social media can cause a lot of mental health problems. Take a break from social media and let Bernardo decide on his own if/when he wants to pick it up again. It's very empowering when we have the opportunity to make decisions for ourselves without social pressure.
For yourself: go take long outdoor walks/hikes, do yoga, and go to a quiet sauna to meditate on your feelings.

I fully agree. I take ownership of that. I fully support Bernardo taking all the time he needs for himself. He deserves it and when I was editing the video I was able to see just how much he has done for me. He has been a caretaker for his whole life and now it's time for him to get out of the role and find himself.

Thankfully it's just a break from social media and not the break of your special love, bond and relationship. You're still there for one another and that is THE most important part. Work on that, and your individuality, which includes each other's mental health and well being. Social media can have it's plusses, but it can have a downside, especially when it takes a toll on your lives together. Also, putting your lives on display , with a loss of privacy, is never conducive for the health of anyone's relationship. I guess it's a tradeoff and about choices. You both will get through this and it's important Bernardo has this time to himself, and the fact you recognize this and support him for it speaks wonders of who you are as a person. It's okay to be vulnerable though, and it's okay to be upset. Your feelings are VALID. I would LOVE to see some solo videos of you if you choose to do so, and your Step family will support you BOTH regardless. Hi Adam & Bernardo. I wasn't going to write anything but before I lose the opportunity of thanking you two for what you've done for me, I thought I might do it today. I started watching you guys in 2018, I admired your love for each other and the adventures you took. I felt like I went on every journey with you across the world. It was only months later that I was struck with the worst case of depression. I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I just didn't want to exist anymore. By the time January 2019 came around, my life changed forever, and I sank so deep in depression I saw no way out. At this point I wanted to take my life. I struggled for the entire 2019 trying to find support or the will to carry on. I couldn't find either. That's when watching your videos started to give me a glimmer of hope. To see your happiness thrive. In a foreign country where I had no family no friends, Stepsof2foreigners change my downward trajectory and I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. You 2 may never understand the significance of your videos, and how it saved my life. Had it not been for your videos I wouldn't be here today. Andre, what a touching comment and thank you so much for sharing that with us/me. I want to say that I'm so glad that you are here and I will have to say that you will have NO IDEA how much it meant to me reading your comment. My mind has been focused on the few negative comments I've received on here (some have been quite harsh, which I knew I would receive so I tried to mentally prepare myself for it.). This is the first comment that I have read from the video that has shared what our videos have done for them and how they have helped you when you needed them. I have to say that your comment came when I needed it. I hope that you are getting the help you need whether it be with a therapist or sharing with a friend your struggles. You are here for a purpose so if you ever feel like you aren't suppose to be here, just remember that you have a purpose. I think we both know how dark those places can be and I'm just so proud that you were able to get out of that darkness without a Bernardo so you are INCREDIBLY STRONG. Andre I too have been watching Adam and Bernardo since the beginning quietly never commenting. But tonight I’m sad. Relationships are hard and not guaranteed. They are only for a period of time so that we can learn what we need to learn from them. Some are forever, but rare. The deeper the sadness, the deeper the love Adam. What a beautiful relationship you both have shared with us and I’ve loved watching every video with a smile. So thank you. One more thing. Don’t ever fear someone’s truth or yours. I subscribed and started watching your videos near the beginning, and seldom comment, but watching the two of you together has been wonderful. It gave me, as a queer man, hope not so much for myself, but for the future of the LGBTQ+ community. For that may I say thank you and I love you both. I think that the future of the two of you as a couple, a married couple, is far more important than whether or not you make videos. If you need to take care of yourselves and that interrupts the once a week or once a month or once a year frequency of keeping us informed of your lives, that's okay. You and Bernardo do what you need to do to keep yourselves strong and together. That's the important part.

Thank you so much Jake for being here and for your lovely comment. Yes, we have learned through these years just how important it is to take care of our mental health. Bernardo and I have talked about this in length and he has encouraged me to continue. This pause is for him to do some solo traveling for him to have a vacation and reconnect with himself. He's been a caretaker for his whole life and he needs time for him now.

Life is not to big to handle, there is a verse in the bible that says " Take no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself, sufficient the day is the evil there of." It basicly means , don't worry about yesterday, it is gone and it can't be changed, don't worry about the future because it dose not exsist. The only thing that matters is now . What a beautiful comment, thank you. Social media does have its pros and cons. I got to witness and feel the difference when you are off of it for some time but I also realized that I missed creating. With this video, I got to see just how much Bernardo has done for me. I have explored with Dr. Solomon my love for filming moments, always having a camera... a lot came from my dad when he got that camcorder and It's amazing to have these videos to go back and watch. As I mentioned in the video, it was quite confusing when I was learning and processing everything that Dr. Solomon was sharing with me and now that things are becoming calmer on the inside and I have had time to process and deal with some issues, I'm lighter and in a much better place. Thank you for being here with us and for your kind comment.

Os últimos anos foram muito desafiadores para ele por ter perdido o pai para Covid, dar apoio ao Adam durante as crises mentais e ainda estar exposto nas redes sociais. Foi a melhor decisão, pois ele precisou ser forte para o Adam e agora precisa ter um tempo para ele descansar, sem pressão do canal.
