Regrets collect like old friends
here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play
and every demon wants his pound of flesh
but I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
Its always darkest before the

Kells
All these pretty lights
Cant you see em'
endless nights
in my lifes museum
where we see our heroes
and pretend to be em'
and we seize the day
carpe diem

previous to this dream state
I had left overs on each plate
left shoe all tatted up from this long journey my feet ache
left the life that I lived cause every day was just replays
and I dreamed big, walked around in my PJs
and my street days is still here
never changed I still wear, the same pair
phone call, what for? we aint long distance I'm still there
still on the blocks with gun cops and gun shots
all familiar of the sound of whats hot
12 doller showers at truck stops
will give anybody motivation that you must not lose this, one shot.

Regrets collect like old friends

I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the gouls come out to play
and every demond wants his pound of flesh
but I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
Its always darkest before the

Demond days
Evil nights
counting hours
frequent flights
people strife
hear it once
speak it twice
hearts never break even
and they change color like seasons
backs turn like treason
but somehow you swear you aint leavin'
follow me now, follow me now
spoons full of sugar from hand folds of medicine
help it go, down, help it go, down
I was just a fool in a room full of Edisons
look at me now
look at me now
feel my words
look at this sound
reminiscing on when I was looking out on the city
wishing a million mufuckas give me that crown
bitch I run this, town.

Overall Meaning

This song is an anthem of resilience, depicting Machine Gun Kelly's journey of overcoming his struggles and rising to the top. The lyrics "Regrets collect like old friends, here to relive your darkest moments" implies the artist acknowledging his past mistakes and difficulties. He further says, "I can see no way, I can see no way," indicating that he couldn't see a way out of his struggles at some point. The reference to the ghouls and demons symbolizes the negativity and challenges that come with fame and success, and how one must keep some things to oneself to overcome them.

The chorus repeats the idea of keeping his issues to himself and the fact that it is always darkest before the dawn. In the verses, MGK talks about his journey to fame, how he has been through tough times, and how he has come out of them stronger. He talks about how people follow their heroes and pretend to be them, but he has seized the day (carpe diem) and made his own path. He references his past life, his struggles, and how he dreamed big. He talks about wearing the same shoes he's always worn, signifying how he has remained true to himself throughout his journey.

In conclusion, the song is a reminder to stay strong and persevere through struggles, no matter how dark it may seem. It is about not letting demons and negative energy take over and keeping one's issues private.

Kells,
All these pretty lights,
Can't you see em?
Endless nights,
In my life's museum,
Where we see our heroes,
And pretend to be em,
And we seize the day,
Carpe Diem,
Previous to this dream state I had leftovers on each plate,
Left shoe all tattered up from this long journey my feet ache,
Left the life that I lived because everyday was just replays,
And I dreamed big, walked around in my PJ's,
And my street days are still here,
Never changed like I still wear,
The same pair,
Phone call? What for?
We ain't long distance, I'm still there,
Still on the blocks where gun cocks and gunshots are more familiar of a sound then what's "hot",
12 dollar showers at truck stops would give anybody motivation that you must not lose this one shot...

[Verse 2:]
Demon days,
Evil nights,
Happy hours,
Frequent flights,
God flow,
People's strife,
Hear it once,
Speak it twice,
Hearts never break even,
And they change color like seasons,
Backs turn like treason,
But somehow you swear you ain't leaving,
Follow me now, follow me now,
Spoon fulls of sugar and handfuls of medicine help it go down,
Help it go down,
I was just a fool in a room full of Edison's, look at me now,
Look at me now,
Feel my words,
Look at this sound,
Reminiscin on when I was lookin out on the city
Wishin a million muthafuckas gave me that crown, bitch I run this town.

[Hook]

[Outro:]
Kells,
All of the people out there with me right now,
Raise your muthafuckin flags,
See this is the beginning,
This is ours,
This is black flag.

@joero1487

Ok everybody Im back! Ive taken an in-depth look at the video. My first comment was written after watching the video once, then thinking for 10 minutes. Now, however, I have watched the video about 17 times and I've noticed a lot of things that i didn't realize the first time. So be ready to read, because this might be a little long.

First, the setting. The main part of the video is staged in a junkyard. This junkyard is EST. Kells is assumed to be living at this junkyard in the video, which means he has collected all of this junk. EST is that junk. Now, i know that sounds bad, but hear me out. To the average person, it looks like a pile of garbage. This is the same way people look at EST. People see us as nothing but a gang of misfits. To them, we are trash, not necessary, unpleasant trash. But as a collector, Kells doesn't think about us that way. He wouldn't collect all this shit if it didn't mean something to him. As the saying goes, One mans trash is another mans treasure. To him, every piece of scrap metal, every broken bottle, every old sign, tells a story. We mean the world to him, even to the point where he would protect us in the face of danger.

Now its time to address the part that had me thinking the hardest. That fucking girl. She was so hard to read at first, but then i looked into what she actually does in the video.
A scene I originally overlooked was the part at 0:22. The girl is shown picking up and reading a book. The book she is reading is called Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa Alsanea. This book is about 4 college girls in Saudi Arabia looking for love. However, they are bound by limited freedoms and specific expectations. This doesn't stop them though because of the Internet. The narrator tells the story in the form of e-mails. This is very relevant to EST as a movement. Kids today are constantly pressured to go to college and get a job. Kells is saying that whats more important is being happy and doing what you love. The Internet is also important because in a world of social media, fans are able to keep in touch with Kells more than ever. Later at 1:14 you see the girl holding a sunflower. Sunflowers are symbolic of loyalty and longevity, both of which are perfect descriptions for EST because we will all ride until the wheels fall off, and we ain't going nowhere anytime soon. That part I'm sure of. However, where i start to feel torn is at 1:26 . Here, you see the girl picking the petals off of the sunflower. This i believe is symbolic of the passing of time. After this scene, it cuts to Kells staring into the cloud of arrows. At 2:01 you see the girl running, which calls attention to how EST will follow him, no matter what path he may take. Then, at 2:03 you see her crying as Kells is impaled with arrows. This emphasizes the fact that when Kells' feels pain, we feel that pain. We would all be devastated if anything happened to him, even if it was to protect us. Finally, at 2:46 you see the girl open her cloth-jacket-thingy (Sorry ladies, I have know idea what that thing called). This is very important when you think about it. Just before this, Kells is finally killed by the hail of arrows. Then, after opening said clothing, Kells opens his eyes. The girl is the one who resurrects him. She figuratively opens her heart, giving Kells a place to live on. His memory will continue to live in the hearts and minds of every  one he has touched with his music.

Well, that took a whole hour and a half to write, but holy fuck does it feel good! Thanks to everyone who read my first comment. And HUGE shoutout to @NolanIsLacedUp for showing my comment to Kells on Twitter. That was dope. I really hope that keels keeps putting out vids like this one because I would love to keep doing this.
And if you would like to add on, or if you disagree with anything i wrote feel free! I would love to see what you guys think! Anyways, Lace the fuck up everybody. EST till I die. Laced Up in the afterlife. Peace out!
