Surely, the Inspired prophetic writers and Jesus did not get the century of the Parousia wrong.
They were not confused or lacked discernment or lied.

The first and second coming of Christ were in the first century. The Parousia was in the first century, according to these Scriptures, and many more. Start with these above.

I'm not making this stuff up. It's in your own Bible. Check it.

As you may know, believers who lived in the Apostolic era believed that Jesus was going to return in their own lifetime. This expectation was in strict accordance with the Lord's own Word:

"Jesus said to His disciples, '...The Son of Man is about to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then recompense every man according to his deeds. Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.'" (Matt. 16:24,27-28)

But after Jersualem fell in A.D. 70, and the Second Coming and the destruction of heaven and earth had not happened literally, sub-apostolic teachers then came up with the concept of the "Parousia delay." We see this concept most notably in the Epistle of Barnabas (written shortly after the fall of Jerusalem) and in the Shepherd of Hermas. (c. A.D. 85-140)

In the Epistle of Barnabas, it was taught that because Jerusalem had recently fallen, believers could be sure that Jesus was about to come at any moment. And the Shepherd of Hermas was written to explain why there had been a delay in the Church's original, Apostolic expectation.

The Second Coming of Christ and the fall of Jerusalem were gradually dichotomized in the years that followed A.D. 70. As the centuries rolled on, the two events eventually became unrelated in the mind of most.

The early abandonment of the eschatology of the Apostolic era was not a reflection on the teaching abilities of the Apostles, but it was a reflection on our slowness in comprehending some of the more difficult teachings of the Apostles. (II Peter 3:16) Polycarp, Bishop of Smyrna, (c. A.D. 150) was refreshingly humble and honest in this regard:

"For neither am I, nor is any other like unto me, able to follow the wisdom of the blessed and glorious Paul..." (Epistle of Polycarp to the Philippians, 3:2).

Preterism is condemned by many futurists today as a damnable heresy. Yet there is little debate on the following point:

The first century, apostolic Church expected the Parousia to take place within the lifetime of the Apostles.

It necessarily follows from that admission that every doctrine today that teaches that the Parousia of Christ did not take place within the lifetime of the Apostles is a flat denial of the original eschatology of the Church.

Since preterism (the doctrine that the Parousia was to take place within the lifetime of the Apostles) was the original eschatology of the Apostolic Church, we can rest assured that it is infinitely more trustworthy and authoritative than all of the "eschatologies," so called, that were "developed" subsequently.

The original and infallible eschatology that God revealed to the Apostolic Church, and which was believed and taught by the Church from A.D. 30-70, should be believed by us with all of our hearts and minds, that is, if we truly believe that the Apostles and prophets are the foundation of the eternal City of God. (Eph. 2:20; Rev. 21:14)

A momentous work of the modern Church in coming days will be its eschatological reformation, its submission to Apostolic / preterist eschatology. May certain Church leaders today emulate the humility of Polycarp, and cease in their virtually unqualified veneration of the Creeds, and at last confess the possibility that the historic Church has erred in its eschatology.

In thus humbling ourselves in the sight of the Lord, we will discover a more biblical worldview, and will bring glory to the Eternal Gospel. Amen.

When I try to tell people these things, I'm called "a conspiracy theorist", and they usually follow that remark with "These things have always been going on" and I reply with "Yes, they have, but not at this accelerated rate". Worth watching! Never heard of Todd Hampson before this video, I am highly impressed! His response at 7:30 in delineating a wrong belief that isn't heresy because it's not a salvation issue was profound, and one I hadn't consciously made myself.

His other very notable delineation was regarding the penalty, power, and presence of sin at 12:17. Though I did know this data already, I loved his simplistic summary that even a child could understand.

The majority of the prophecies in Daniel and Revelation have already been fulfilled which brings me to this observation. The main purpose for God giving us these prophecies is to reassure us that He knows what is coming and not for us to be able to predict the exact nature of what will happen. Once a prophecy Is fulfilled we can look at it and say, "Oh, that is what it meant!" In the meantime we are reassured that God is not being caught off guard but is prepared for and knows how to deal with what is happening.

Ive gained a higher understanding of the book of Revelation in terms of wrath on the unrepentant. Even during the 7 bowls of wrath, it describes the people as unrepentant and thus placing themselves directly in the path of the plagues.

But nobody should totally rely on their governments, especially during disasters. We must all try if you can. I'm in front of to take the Burden off the government so they can concentrate on the absolute poverty arbitrary before middle class and high class. Good stuff, that's exactly how this was taught to me from the Hebrew and Greek translations.
People get stuck in the myth that there is a God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament is more gentle, and loving, and only full of love...AND HE IS! HE HAS NEVER CHANGED, HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND TOMORROW.
The problem...modern preachers DO NOT study prophecy and therefore DO NOT understand the future. The God of Israel, the living eternal Lord of hosts, has enemies and HE will judge them in righteousness.
Don't allow yourselves to be deceived by these "kumbaya" ministers and people preaching "the prosperity gospel", it's heresy.
Search and you will find.
Do your own study, don't take my word for it...

I agree with most of the video, the part in these that always throws me off is when someone brings up "Rapture". I wholeheartedly believe and also see it well to criticize the fact that one day all the believers in Christ will not have to live on earth to experience the tribulations or so to say... Live through them as with the rest of humanity. Again, pointing to the Old Testament; God brought Noah through the floods, not out of them. God bless and stay safe 🙏🙏

I'd also point to the temptation of Jesus as one of them, if he had to endure temptation in the wilderness, when according to the devil himself, "Surely God would not allow you to dash your foot against a stone," or "He will send his angels to rescue you..." All of which were scripturaly true, but in the end, God had him ensure regardless... Again, not refuting his points, save for the Rapture, which I wholeheartedly disagree with... Have a good day 🙏🙏

The Bible is says 1000 years is like a day to God. You're missing the whole point of the message: time doesn't mean to God what it means to us since we have a short, finite lifespan. That's why Christ refers to the Tribulation as "the hour of trial", even though it will last a few years.

Are you sure we are in the end times? Is this what the Scriptures say, or is this what modern day prophecy teachers say? And where do they get it from, the newspapers, CNN, or maybe You tube? Most are going to say from the bible. Do you know that the " end time " had to do with the Old Mosaic Covenant. We have been in the New Covenant for 2000 years now. Search the Scriptures to see whether it's so.

@Stan Neufeld Hebrews 8:13 the old was finished a better lasting covenant Jeremiah 31:31 already prophesied by God because the eternal needs and full restoration could only happen through a sinless man so Israel faced consequences of the rejection of Jesus in AD 70 but their fall meant salvation for Gentiles but their restoration means life from the dead as Romans chapter 11:11-12
