Y Sigues Siendo Tu
Marc Anthony Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Me ataca por la espalda
Surge de una canción
De un perfume
O sin razón
Hiriendo sin piedad
Mi corazón
Se esconde en otros labios
Me habla con tu voz
Y me dice "mi amor"
Y pretendo
Que te estoy besando
Y sigues siendo tu
El centro de mi mundo
Sigues siendo tu
Mi dolor mas profundo
Lo que no pudo ser
Lo que siempre amare
A veces es tan cruel
Recordarte otra vez
A veces tu recuerdo
Se sienta aquí a mi lado
Vuelve a mírame con intensidad
Y ciegamente vuelvo a confiar
Pero se esfuma si quiero abrazarlo
The lyrics to Marc Anthony's song "Y Sigues Siendo Tu" convey a sentiment of lingering pain and longing for someone who is no longer present in the singer's life. The memories of this person are so strong that they are triggered by random and everyday occurrences like a song or a smell, causing the singer's heart to ache with brutal force. These recollections are so vivid that they make the singer feel like their lost love is still present in their life, even though they are now with someone else. These constant reminders create both desire and pain in the singer's heart, signifying the power of love over the human heart.
The chorus of the song drives home the point that despite the singer's attempts to move on, their love for their lost partner continues. This person remains the focal point of the singer's world and the deepest source of their pain. The singer continues to love this person even though they cannot be together, and this love will always be with them, no matter the circumstances. The song ends with a bittersweet realization that even though the memories and feelings associated with this person are intense and wrenching, the singer has to learn to let go, even if it means the pain will never truly go away.
