Tesbahoun Ala Watan
Marcel Khalife Lyrics

The lyrics of Marcel Khalife's song Tesbahoun Ala Watan talks about the idea of sacrifice and martyrdom for one's homeland. The lyrics evoke the image of the singer staying awake to guard the martyrs while they sleep. He congratulates them for their safety from impossible efforts and the excess of their altar sacrifices. He questions if everyone can be considered a martyr, and reminds his friends to leave some time for singing and dedicating a wall to laundry ropes. The song ends with the singer saying that the martyrs will wake up to a homeland made of clouds, trees, mirages, and water, and he urges his friends to never become like a mysterious hanging rope.
