Outside her own singing, she formed a publishing company (Modernm) and has produced for other artists. She has also authored several books and involved herself with charitable organizations battling AIDS and poverty.
Any Kind Of Light
Margaret Becker Lyrics

My diamond to the sky
Turned You 'round
To see every side
Looked so hard
Stung my eyes
What did I see?
What did I see?
Always True
Nothing can hold a candle to You
I'm still drawn to You in
Any kind of light
You still stand up to
Any kind of light
I'd stand next to You in
Any kind of light
I still believe in You
After all I'd choose You
I held You up
My hope against the night
Closed my eyes
I was afraid to see the sight
Took a look
Fell down blind
What did I see?
What did I see?
Always stunning
Always true
Even the starts bow to You
[CHORUS]
I've seen the shadows come
And the colors run
But never one
Stole a thing from You
[CHORUS]
The lyrics of Margaret Becker's song Any Kind of Light convey a sense of devotion and admiration towards a higher power, as well as a personal struggle to understand and come to terms with the greatness of this force. The repetition of the phrase "I held You up" suggests a sense of duty or responsibility towards this force, as if the singer is keeping faith alive through sheer willpower. The metaphor of turning this force around to see every side suggests a desire for understanding or enlightenment, and the intensity of this search is captured in the line "Looked so hard, stung my eyes." Despite the difficulty of truly comprehending the greatness of this force, the singer asserts that "Nothing can hold a candle to You" and describes this force as "Always stunning" and "Always True."
The chorus of the song reinforces the idea that this force remains steadfast and unchanging, even in the face of changing circumstances or difficult times. The repeated phrase "Any kind of light" implies that this force can withstand any challenge or hardship, and remains strong and reliable throughout. The line "Even the stars bow to You" further emphasizes the greatness of this force, suggesting that it is at once both awe-inspiring and humbling.
Overall, the lyrics of Any Kind of Light convey a sense of reverence and devotion, as well as a struggle to understand and appreciate the greatness of a higher power.
