Outside her own singing, she formed a publishing company (Modernm) and has produced for other artists. She has also authored several books and involved herself with charitable organizations battling AIDS and poverty.
Clay And Water
Margaret Becker Lyrics

At the speed of light
And standing here in their shadows
I'm silenced at the sight
Like water on the wind I sense the change to come
All that I've held in like teardrops run
CHORUS:
Falling forward in this order
While the world spins 'round so fast
Slowly I'm becoming who I am
Nothing ever stays the same
The wheel will always turn
I feel the fire in the change
But somehow it doesn't burn
Like a beggar blessed I stumble in the Grace
Reaching out my hand for what awaits
CHORUS
I will live
From my heart
And I will catch the lines of love as they come
Back to You
I know they'll lead
And into You
I know I'll lean
CHORUS
The lyrics of Margaret Becker's song "Clay And Water" reveal a sense of surrender and acceptance in the face of change. The singer recognizes that life is constantly evolving, and time is moving at an unrelenting pace. She feels overwhelmed by the speed of these changes as they "pass over" her like "water on the wind." Despite feeling silenced by their weight, she senses that these shifts will eventually lead to a transformative process in which she is becoming who she truly is.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the concept of personal transformation. The phrase "I am clay and I am water" represents the idea of being molded and shaped by life's experiences. The singer acknowledges that she is falling forward, embracing the changes and whirlwind of life, as it evolves uncontrollably. However, at the same time, she feels a certain sense of inner stability as she slowly discovers who she is. The combination of clay and water also creates a sense of fluidity and pliability, which implies the idea of being open to new experiences and learning from them.
