A partir de quel bonheur
De quelle histoire, de quelle douleur
Tourne t'on vraiment la page
A partir de quel tournant
De quel sentiment meilleur
De quel tourment, de quelle douceur
Peut-on franchir le passage
Devenir femme, devenir femme
Est-ce que l'on doit avoir souffert
Avoir mis les genoux à terre
Et perdu toute innocence
Pour gagner cette humanité
Est-ce qu'il suffit d'avoir aimé
Est-ce qu'il suffit d'avoir pleuré
De sentir la vie dans son ventre
Passer de l'autre côté
Pour devenir femme
Devenir femme, devenir femme
Oublier du feu de la flamme
Illuminer le corps et l'âme
Laisser le
Pur et le Cristal
Et s'engager dans la bataille
(Pour) Devenir femme
Devenir femme, devenir femme
Et au pied de cette montagne
De cet impossible idéal
J'ai décidé de m'arrêter
Et prendre le temps du voyage
Pour devenir femme
Devenir femme, devenir femme
The song "Devenir Femme" by Marilou talks about the process of becoming a woman. The lyrics question at what point does one become a woman and what experiences are necessary to go through in order to reach that point. Marilou asks if one must suffer, fall to their knees, and lose their innocence to gain humanity. She also questions whether simply loving and crying is enough or if one must feel the life growing inside them to cross the bridge over to womanhood. The lyrics speak about the transformation from youth to maturity, leaving behind the fire of passion and embracing the crystal clearness of the soul, taking on the challenges of life, and making a commitment to becoming a woman.
The lyrics spend a lot of time asking questions and considering the various aspects of what it means to become a woman. The song suggests that the experience is unique to each individual and each person must take their time and embrace their own journey. The song speaks of the decision to stop and take time in order to begin the journey of becoming a woman.
Overall, the song is about the process of growing up, leaving behind the naivete of youth, and embracing the challenges of adulthood.
